@moviepreviewcritic David Lynch is freaking genius. There's a rumor is that he will going to make Mulholland Drive sequel. Just like Oliver Stone made Wall Street sequel staring Shia 'nonononono' Labeuf.
Well it seem's that holloywood is now as you said in your review re-raping movies of the original franchises and as a matter of fact when has hollywood ever in a still screwed up economy ever made a good remake of the franchises we all loved growing up as kids and yeah to me this movie is by far the most freakin horribly remade movie that i haven't seen and not planning to see ever not even as a rental!!!!
Here's my bottom line. I hate horror movies and nothing, and I mean NOTHING, will force me to watch this movie or any of the others from the original series, even though technically I watched Freddy Vs. Jason due to curiosity and the fact is that ever since watching that, I know that every known horror movie from the past or in the distant future will be known as the worst. In other words, the horror genre can go F**K itself!
@FCKundo Respect for defending your movie passion! I can see that. I did like many of the additions to the new one, while many elements from the original were in place. Thanks for speaking up!
you cant be better than the orignal.... because the original was a suprise... in the 80s you were scared because dying in your dreams... that was a new concept... now we knew what the deal was... so what ever i liked this movie...
bit touchy this time huh? your always like this with the horror movie remakes. but you've done so many saying this stuff over and over that it's better not to bother. Especally with the time you had you could've just done a review for it when you got the dvd or just pulled an "ask a ninja" and use clips of audio from your last remake reviews and only add a few lines to have it make sense.
@BrokenFWD Good points! I guess the same mistakes keep being made, and I guess the choice is to give up or keep speaking up...I'll choose to fight till the end :) But with Freddy, the possibilities were even greater! Being in the dreamworld and all. And, he is my fav of the original slashers, so it was a bit personal. Thanks for speaking up!
I love all the movies and I've been a Freddy fan since I was 6 years old! The remake was good, I like the new Freddy, he definitely did a good job. I went in not expecting anything, but the movie was really good and as a Freddy fan I was satisfied
i'll wait awhile before i see it. also, freddys' dead the final nightmare and nightmare 2 freddy's revenge were the worst of the series. you also have not responded back to my messages. you having back up issues or something?
how did we get to the point when heap cash ins like any film from michael bay makes money while good films which tried to be fresh and are more fun end up completly ignore
The original movies sucked anyway. The scenes were lame and the people were idiots. When Freddie killed Tina, the guy just sat there yelling instead of getting his ass off the floor and trying to help. Then when Nancy was attacked in the tub she climbed out and put on a towel like nothing happened. Good movies should at least contain characters with common sense. The only thing good was the main character.
See... I'm a 30 year old HORROR MOVIE LOVER. Even the B-movies from the 80's take a big shit on the CG packed horrors of today! At 1st I was crazy excited to see this after seeing the teaser trailer. But I'll be DAMNED if my fond memories of Freddy sucking Glen into his bed or Nancy's drunk ass mother (LOLOL) be tainted by this movie motivated by greed and targeted at a generation that's naive to the real thing! The only thing that interests me is seeing more of the back story = (
@4heartace I'll only be posting audio reviews on YouTube. Video edited versions are available at Dailymotion, links provided within the descript of the Youtube Audio versions or via link-through at the tmpc website.
I didn't want to see this movie until they announced Haley which peaked my interest, but the trailers look generic and after the reviews i deceded to wait until i run across this movie on television
I personally don't see this Nightmare being that big a success, it's got Iron Man 2 as a rival, which most of the Brit population is more stoked to see. Much of the American population too I'd think
@SinisterPrincessJAG haha...I apologize for not responding yet. I'm backed up a bit on vid-related issues. Thanks for supporting! And, I love Chucky, but, for me, he's a bit limited, fun, but not a menacing as the others. That's just me, respect for defending your movie passion!
@moviepreviewcritic I belive; if this film were to b remade with an original take, who else has more credibility of filming nightmarish dreams than David Lynch?
I just want David Lynch to bring his style to mainstream, so the non artfilm watching community can see something different.
The bad thing is, if successful, H-woods first objective is to get the film in to a lab and disect what makes it so succesful, in order to replicate it.
Sadly, I'm sure Hwood learned nothing from Dark City.
@moviepreviewcritic I could care less about this "unlubricated back alley violation" : ) but wanted to comment on the "david lynch mainstream film" idea - it does exist, its called: The Box by (Donnie Darko Writer/Director) Richard Kelly. its safe enough for the mainstream and crazy enough for Lynch fans. Do check it out.
@sinatrah Good recommendation! I've seen it and really like it. A nice mix of Twilight Zone meets Lynch. Though, I'd love it if a Lynch Freddy would be more Eraser Head/Mulholland Drive-ish. Good to hear from you! Hope all is well.
@moviepreviewcritic you're welcome, but I'm just defending my fave horror movie icon. There's only one Freddy and thats Mr.Robert Englund! like there's only one voice of chucky and thats Brad Dourif!!!
I read a VERY early review of this movie a few months ago. The person who wrote the review said that there is a lot more Freddy backstory than in the original, and said that the flashback scenes, before Freddy was burned, actually worked and were better than the actual nightmare scenes.
I'm a huge JEH fan, but I'm gonna have to pass on this one in theatres and see it as a rental.
saw the movie, and to tell you the truth it wasnt that bad considering its a remake. story was alright but the death scenes were pretty good, and i really enjoyed scenes where they turned into the dream world. my favorite one was when there in the pharmacy place, i gave the movie an 8
i would still watch it on big screen just because i never got to see one of the original elm streets that way ...They made the last part of freddys dead in 3d
Friday the 13th remake was better but not the other remakes. I just watched the NOES remake it was ok the death scenes were disappointing. Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy and his story was the best thing by far. The remake wasn't the best in the franchise but it also wasn't the worst.
......Im gonna watch all the original ones to absorb some of the gold.He messed with our mind and thats why people get scared. all the new Rape-makes dont have that, they just show the same old thing. Blood,Gore, and Special effects. No nightmare making just wants to mak you puke.and you dont puke because of the gore,no, its because of the bad script.
I agree but i didnt watch it and i wont. Freddy was a horror idol and this movie was like how Freddy killed his victims. It was what you dreamed of but then your dream was murdered. Freddy is a horror god because he was a hardcore killer but, he had personality.
The Hills Have Eyes remake wasnt bad considering they went alittle overboard at times which the original did as for the time. The orginal was made in 1977, the remake in 2006 , they have to up the ante somehow, give the movie a push that would recreate the source material faithfully. The remake isnt the one i hold a grudge upon. This title goes to the sequel the remake : The Hills Have Eyes 2. Now that movie was REALLY BAD.

I don't know about this movie. Robert played an incredible villain. Such a flexible actor who was good at playing the vile Freddy from Nightmare On Elm Street to the kind hearted Willie from V. On the other side I've been a admirer of Jackie since The Bad News Bears. Though Watchmen wasn't a favorite of mine, he did a terrific job in the part. I think this is a case of first come, first is best. The same would apply had the roles been reversed.
Just saw it. And it was dissapointing. Kinda expected it to be, but I guess curiousity got the best of me on this one. Still, can't wait for Iron Man 2 next week.
TMPC_ i was wondering what ever happend to the wird guy who sent u that wierd video (owim spesific right!¿), how to explain better, the person wh sent a video about the movie conspirasy and that said he was gonna send a new video every month keeping u informed or something, it seems the guy just disapeared xD, well, if u understood what im trying to say plz reply =D
I was starting to think you weren't going to make this, but you come through. Awsome video as always. I agree, its not anything special. It will have a lackluster story but some cool kills. But what should we expect from horror movies now a days, they are just going to keep coming out and keep getting worse. But I do want to see this movie anyway, I really want to see how they re imagine it from the original, but again it wont be anything ground breaking.

Well, I actually think the movie is gonna be good, but it won't be nearly as great as the original.
@moviepreviewcritic acutlly got back form seeing the movie! and actully it was a bit surprising. I man i just keep an opean mind. it was seriously real, and it's interesting.
ALIRA Live Action Remake,is if anything pretty damn Perfect! as long as the director(s) actully interestingly awsome! and guess what?! Faithful to the Manga more then the Anime film. You would love it!
I wonder why they are releasing this film in spring at the beginning of the Blockbuster season. It's not really the place for horror movies. The only horror movie suitable for this time of the year is 'The Wickerman' (the original obviously).
i liked the remake of holloween better than that boring as hell original but i did the like orignial texas chainsaw massacare way better than the remake
I don't even listent to these before I click the like button. I just click it and then listen.
