For a High School unit, pretty darn good! Way better than we were back in the day (1980s).
The commander after me and the one after that opted for Berets; I never liked Berets but that's up to the individual unit commander. You could use the black chinstrap for its original purpose on the combos, with another for mere aesthetics still on the cover. Never was a fan of helmets either, but some can make it work. I do love the winter blue uniform with white belt + leggings, though. Go DT!
lol, there throws to eachother are crap. Im in a highschool drill team and we dont need to lean to catch a rifle. Not that "darn" hard to do. Just gotta have a lil strength.
Hey Cleaveland This is C/CPO Christian Mckoy of Naples American High School and i saw you comment on my fellow chief's armed drill video and i found it funny how yall no bearing outta step half stepping motherfuckers can talk shit about our armed drill team. The last time i checked the navy doesnt wear fuckin berets u asshole! You pansies make the air force look good. I wonder why yall only got 6 people on your team,go back to fucking BASIC DRILL!! ~ C/CPO Mckoy HOOAH!
now I assume you attained the rank of chief by being a brown nose because you obviously overreacted to simple comments and critiquing by a fellow driller. second, about the berets: the navy SEALs in Vietnem originally wore the black berets that the army use today, we are simply going with that origin. Finally, calm your little ass down. I know our SOPHOMORE team sucked thankyou. I'm sure you're all seniors. Now Have a Nice Day Cadet.
that cadet achieved CHIEF by going through the CHIEFS program. Not to be an ass but we went through almost the exact same induction that Navy Chiefs go through. We were trained by Ggnuine Navy Chiefs. There is no brown nosing or anything like that. We earned those ANCHORS. No doubt about it.
I was on this one "CJNA Drill Team" black kid that did the behind the back change and the long toss at the end, the distance looked much greater in real lif at the end.
I was on the drill team that grauduated berfore this one (John Tayor) anyway, good job guys,a keep upholding our pass and review tradition well, don't be afraid to join my Marine Corps.
The team looked unsure at times. Drilling on grass probably didn't help. The team must master the basics and then push on to add to their vocabulary. Keep up the good work!
WOW guys- I love Cleveland, hence I graduated ther in 2004- but this performance was not sharp or well done compared to what I have seen @ all! I don't if the move to Gateway has caused this slop or what- but tighten it all the way up a.s.a.p.!!!!
jus try to work on rifle control and keeping ur bodys still.when that one guy threw a triple try to keep from bending down.look at both my vids Green Run rifle spinning.
yeah i know how it its. that's how my unit used to be, if not worse, until i became the drill team commander/CO, i put they're fucking asses in line. those were the good old days, now im getting ready for Marine Bootcamp, leaving in a month a half
Im the great grndfather of the CJNA BXDT Black Knights.I gave the team the name. Yall still doin my moves! Thats wild! Im proud of yall lil thundacats! Good to see yall still holdin it down.
Alright cadets, why are you all talking so much....Okay, just playing. Anyway, good drill. I am an OLD graduate of Cleveland NJROTC 1997, I was on the girls exhibition drill team. Our rifles were nowhere near as heavy as the guys.. Good job!!
ok i was a drill team co and a few tips you need to work on timeing and when you slam ur rilfes down try to keep them by ur feet what we did was took them down a lil slower you can still make the tap that way
This is an awesome performance from the ROTC Drill Team!! The effort, uniformity, and appearance of these young men really come through. A big round of applause ROTC!

you guys are wack but you have potential first thing i suggest you work on is posture
mikiri92 3 years ago
It looked kinda sloppy and there was to much torso movement during the spins. Secondary movements really didnt help

I thought Berets weren't used in the Navy? Are they?
RearAdmirel 3 years ago
only for exhibition events. they look better than garrison covers, n they're easier to spin in than combos
CLVBblacknight 3 years ago
yeah, in fact the navy units in vietnam were the only ones who wore the black berets you see today on army buffs.
