I'm addicted to this tune. The Spirit Temple plays quite a big role in a story I'm working on set 40 years after the events of the game (with some changes/inaccuracies). The main character is Validane, who has the difficult job of replacing Ganondorf as Gerudo King. Nabooru has also passed away in my story so the Sage is a woman named Alzubra, handpicked by Nabooru before her death.

OOT was my first zelda EVER. The story was gripping and the gameplay was solid. Took me a long time to beat it when I was 7, but when I did, Man did It feel good. I haven't had that much fun on a game since then, Not just zelda games, but all games.

I have a Roland synth that has a lot of oriental type instruments in it, so i'll check that. Whatever it is, it sounds like it would be an Egyptian or middle eastern type instrument.

@TheWaynelds Hmm..another commenter on here says that it is meant to be an Egyptian Arghul..a single reeded instrument..however, the instrument featured on here (although artificially recorded and sounded) seems to be one of a much deeper timbre and greater volume. As I might have said, I like to think of it as the instrument that is used to call Muslims to their daily prayers. Otherwise, put simply..the timbre is somewhat translatable to saxophone.

As 12gauge said.. This game was my childhood.. Every boss, every song, every sound, every weapon, child or adult.

This is my favorite song of any Zelda game by far.. This game will forever be engraved in my memory. I want to save my N64 and golden special addition OoT game for my future kids (if it happens), because this game is literally the best game EVER. Even made back in 1995.. I will never forget the memories and suprising life lessons this game gave me. ^^ die hard Zelda fan..

I love this piece so much, and I haven't found a remix/orchestration that really gets it just right yet! My ABSOLUTE favourite bit is the melody from 1:00 right through to 1:26 when it touches on the major third of the chord at 1:24 and then falls to the original minor key, I know it makes me sound like a twat, but It gets me every time!! As a kid, I was scared of the Forest Temple and Shadow Temple, but I wanted to stay in the spirit temple forever!! :D

@twistedtomsky - The melody instrument is meant to be an Egyptian Arghoul, I can't be certain but it would certainly fit with the theme of the Spirit Temple, and it sounds extremely similar... well and similar as what a MIDI sample can get :)
