I got a tour of the radio station in 1983 (4?). They said there was a drive up request line and me and this guy skipped school to find it and request New Moon on Monday. The French restaurant in Greenway Plaza phoned in on our behalf after we came in their back door. We got asked up and got a tour. "Mr Leonard" was always 1 step ahead of us, so we *missed* him. Like we knew he wasn't real. Jeez. Great memories. I went to Robert E Lee.
I use to love 93Q, i remember it started on 79Q am, then went to FM. even though its still around as a country station. just isnt the same. I worked for Cox Radio in the mid 2000s radio just isnt the same anymore.
Man-o-man!!! How could you forget KKBQ?? From 1982 and into the early 90's, it was my station of choice... especially on Sunday nites: 6400! Those were the days...
Mark Landis he's in San Antonio at KJXK Jack FM 102.7 he oversaw the KTFM format flip from Rythmtic AC to Adult Hot Rythmtic Contemporary "The New 94.1 KTFM" in March 2008 unless this a different Mark Landis.
Awesome.. i loved this station back them, it was awesome. i remember listening to a song; it was funny - it said something like "A Neal Frank Haircut" and the homecoming queen's got a gun.. 93Q was the shit back then, now it is country.. NO!

I remember when 93Q used to simulcast Club 6400 on the weekends. This is pretty awesome seeing this old footage!
