Interesting pronunciation of the words 'twen-tie' and 'fif-tie". Never heard it before; was it common to pronounce them that way or was it a regional thing?
Walter Lindrum did play some exhibition snooker, and was very proficient, made a 130 odd break in one if i recall...but billiards was the game he excelled in. Another interesting fact is he was born right handed, but suffered an accident when he was 8 or ten, losing the top of a finger .... so changed to playing left handed!
a true gent, and a beautiful cueman, the best ever no doubt. no table heaters and super crystallite balls in those days, 'bloody cannon balls' as eddy charlton used to say.
Not professionally, but he often played a frame or two during his exhibitions. Very little doubt he would have dominated it had he devoted more time to it. Absolutely frightening skill level, and bear in mind that footage is well past his peak.
Again that is so great. There is another youtube post, a modern one, with a fine modern player doing nursery cannons. Beside Lindrum that player looks like a novice. So do we all. And what a lovely man he was as well.

I used to watch pocket billiard on tv during the 90's - it was very popular in india.

This is brilliant. What a genius. But how come there's no footage from any of the games that are televised in other countries?
