@inparadise That was three months in. With the right guidance, support and government funding, students can pick up pretty much anything pretty quickly, huh.
Good god, google translator is not always the best place to go to. 印象深刻 does not mean impressive, it means an impression that you consider as more or less profound or particularly memorable.
@tesla40k@tesla40k Hahaha, you got a list as well? :D :D Me too and Japanese in on the list as well... (but also almost every other language. Haha)
Your pronounciation is so awesome and cute! Really, good job. Chatting with people, who speak Chinese is the best way to learn it. Sitting down studying vocabs might be helpful, but the best way is to chat. You are right.
I'm jealous because you can speak a little more Chinese than me. xS
Xjetaimejuicy - I agree! I studied in Taiwan and can tell right away when I hear an accent...most Americans have such horrible heavy accents but Taiwanese people will never tell you that LoL They still tell you your pronounciation is great when it's actually really bad just because you are giving an effort, but I can honestly say your pronounciation is BOMB! Now all you need is more vocabulary and try not to translate your thoughts from English to Chinese!
I am really impressed not just with your Mandarin but also the culture here you could associate with, esp. your performance at the graduation ceremony of your high school in Kaohsiung. Well-done :-)
I took two years in high school for fun, but I cheated and spent my senior year in Taiwan. I used to read an hour of Chinese on a different topic every day, and just be as social as possible with people I meet. Confucius said "of three men walking, one must be able to teach me something," or something along those lines.
I hate sitting down and studying so I would often sing KTV with my friends or visit a temple to chat with old people in Taiwanese.
That's quite sad. He has great Chinese but because he's learnt in Taiwan he can't pronounce any retroflex consonants. Its the equivalent of saying 'tanks' instead of 'thanks' or 'kick' instead of 'quick'.
(reply to loot6) Lolz, 志華 don't listen to this guy.
What's sad is that this 笨蛋 probably gets a hard-on practicing his 捲舌音 and thinking he's hot shit . . . What's with these guys? Are they really that serious about promoting the speech stereotype propaganda of a communist police state? Have fun dicksmacks!
加油 loot6! Keep curling that tongue! 別擔心: You'll get laid by one of those hairy commie chicks soon enough!

Wow! Very impressive!! I was learning Japanese for a while, but had to put it on hold until I finish up with my degree.
Just out of curiosity, how long did it take you to get to this level? And what was your general study routine?
Thanks a lot.

是在台灣固然的﹐可是哪所國語中心?
negooog 2 years ago
tesla40k 2 years ago
哦﹐對﹐剛看到你制服繡上的號碼。我曾是有了來自德州的同學。 由於台北跟休斯頓是姊妹市﹐所以台灣的教育部提供為留學許多筆獎學金給德州人。
negooog 2 years ago
