I hate ski lifts. Being a boarder they cause me all sorts of problems like the ones that come in really fast and wack you on the boney side of your knee because you're standing side on to it. Or sitting between skiiers getting your board all tangled up with their skis.

Haha I work as a lift operator at a ski resort and this stuff is so funny. And the lift can't stop immediately. If you do, the forward momentum might throw people off if they don't have the safety bar down (which a lot of people don't) and it would shred through the breaks. Makes me laugh every time though haha

However chairlifts that can download (bring people back down the mountain, which requires more safety features) don't, because that's where people get on the lifts. I saw it happen at Whistler, the left operator must have had a heavy night since he responded far too late. Some guy got his bag caught and has hanging from the lift by a strap as it started to head back out over a cliff. Would have been funny except the guy could have ended up dead. He was screaming like I've never heard, proper blood curdling squel! I always check my bag now if I have before I get off. lol
