Even if your in the middle position of manual once you clear the display your back in auto.If you don't see the shutter speed and f-stop etc. on the display your no longer using those setting's they HAVE to be on the display to be in manual mode.Try it....record some footage with your manual setting's than clear ther display.Now watch back the tape with datacode on and you'll see what i mean.
I heard you can't upload HD videos to youtube with this camera.
