You can do it just by writing the numbers from 0 to 9 in both ways. First from the top down and then from down to top. Just in case you don't now the answer of the first two multiplications he does (9x1 and 9x10) which is the reason you're doing this trick in the first place.

Oh, the only thing you can do with that is know the order of the problems and how to get one if you have the other. Ex. 2X2=4 2+2=4there's 0 difference between the two, they increase by 1, and u r starting at zero, so 2+22=24 2+22= well, they're sep by 2 0s or 10s, so you add 20 to get 44.
