Ip personally love broccoli. My best way of cooking it is by taking a medium sized pan and simmering about 1/4 of water 2 tbsp of butter and a pinch of your favorite spices then add the broccoli and cover until you reach desired tenderness!!!
i used to avoid broccoli until i saw it mixed with beef and covered with a dark sweet sauce. i think that was beef and broccoli (chinese style if i remember correctly).
now i eat brocs as long as there's a dip or sauce to go with it.
...now if i could just do the same with cauliflower. :)
@fredstermaximus cauliflower takes extremely well to thick creamy sauces, like hollandaise or sharp cheese sauces. It's also very sensitive to over and under cooking, unlike broccoli. No sauce can save it if cooked wrong.
And I love beef with broccoli - I don't know what it is, but that's a combo I order every time I get chinese or even if I'm cooking the two at home. Broccoli loves hoisin, for sure.
@InternetMuhajideen Broccoli in Oyster sauce sounds awesome! i usually steam it with lemon and pepper, i'll certainly have to try the oyster sauce next time!
they use a lot of the same background music and themes throughout the entire series...i like it..
my favorites is the sailor tune (rice episode with the two guys in the rice suits), the jazzy tune (cocktail & orange episode), and this otherwise nondescript tune that they play a lot when he's mixing together ingredients (also in the rice episode when he's adding more broth after the scene with the rice suits)
Lucky Yates. He's played Batman, Mel the Mailman, Louis Pasteur, a butcher, a maitre d' at a cupcake shop, the Dungeon Master, and countless other roles.
white vinegar, also known as distilled vinegar, is rather plain, and generally not worth using in food where you want something with more flavor.
White wine vinegar is so named because it is made out of white wine, white vinegar is so named as it is distilled to high purity and is thus clear or "white."
@smartblonde85 know what? Let the nerd streak be shown with pride! I do it all the time bc it keeps me sane. :0P

I tried that exact recipe for the roasted broccoli with my ex, and he still hated it. Notice, he's my EX. ;)

I love roasting the stuff. It's tasty and easy enough to do. But, then again, I love broccoli, even the silly crudites too!

Hey, the music where Alton was stealing the snacks is the same that played when he was stealing waffles as the Waffler in another episode.

I use white vinegar sometimes in soups. There's no reason not to use it, it brings the sour taste and nothing else, so what's the big deal?
