You need an SD card with music n it. You go listen to your music in the sounds and msuic thing and you pick a song. You then use the pull thing or some other button to change the animation at the top to the mario game, and then use the shoulder buttons to jump for coins.

well, it's luigi, and it's a random chance 1 in about 12 times. just scroll switch between the mario one and a close one( by pressing up and down) and eventually it'll be luigi.
