Camaros, Mustangs, Chargers, ect. were faster and way more powerful than any production Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche, ect. of the time. The late 60's and early 70's Corvettes absolutely owned anything on the street in any country being on a sports car chassis and having anywhere from 400-550 horsepower. If it wasn't for the oil embargo, emission controls, safety regulations, ect. a Mustang GT today would probably have like a 600-700 hp V8 and crazy technology.

Red victor 1 can't really be compared to the work NRE does these days, these guys use dual injection per cylinder, octane on demand (when you get into boost, electronics sense it and dump race fuel through the secondary throttle bodies) adjustable boost at the push of a button, gear related boost control (meaning you can limit the amount of boost you want in each gear for better traction) and a bunch of other really neat stuff...

@SickTracks4u It's a lenco transmission.It has a shifter for every gear change.Basically you only use the cutch to launch,and then just pull the levers for quick shifting down the track.

gass guzzling V8 huh? not much of a difference there smart one. and 5.7 is a much bigger number than 1.8. and since its a bigger number, it probly has more horse power to. 150ph vs 403hp. thats quite a significant difference and again a bigger number. so, in this case, i can rightfully say bigger is better

Although you can't deny, V8 engines are catching up on those great fuel economies. It all depends on how you drive. In the end, I'd rather drive a 30 MPG V8. After all, where else can you get that awesome sound and torque? These cars EMPHASIZE sound. And that's what I love.Love cars man..they're art.
