  • I'd also like to point out that if two people with swords were actually trying to kill one another, it would probably devolve into wild hacking and slashing or a very bloody wrestling match very quickly and look nothing like any Hollywood sword fight or sparring match you've ever seen. Those things have rules. Murder does not. In any case, that's not what wu shu is about. It's a preformance... and a rather beautiful one, IMO.

  • never fight with an asian kid , they know martial arts , tai kwon do , and WHOOP ASS

  • people who compare martial arts through its genre, aren't real martial artist

  • Sparring??? HaahhaHahahHAhaHAHHAahhahaHahaHa!! Ummm no.

  • Jesus christ nice demonstration.

  • Yes!! Chinese rules!!

Koreans and Japaenese Martial arts like tae kwon do or karate don't even stand a single chance against the Chinese Martial arts

  • That was awesome.

  • i prefer kamasutra

  • spear usually lose against sword in 1v1, but 10 v 10, spear win.

  • I was expecting an actual sparring match, not a Hollywood scripted fight with fancy moves that would get you killed if you tried them in a real fight.

It was still amusing, but I are disappoint.

  • @demomanchaos Yeah, I fucking lol'd when I saw the little spin by the dual-wielder.

  • @demomanchaos Wow, hipster much?

  • @Kamikazebutterfly Nope, viking reenactor. I do live steel combat which is with actual steel weapons, which are blunt of course but they do still hurt if you get hit. The fights are unscripted, unlike this.

  • @demomanchaos not necessarily true it depends on when you use the techniques.

  • @demomanchaos It's a performance sport called wu shu. It's like ice skating... with weapons, only way more interesting. Which is why it ought to be an Olympic sport, IMO.

  • I would love to see a FAIL!!!

  • @Ibnhaque check ur local mirror

  • @smoK1NG oooooooooookaaaay then, daily mirror or The Mirror, what happened other then eurozone meltdown

  • Amazing, I have actually used Wushu videos for accurate descriptions of sword fights and such for my (not yet published) books.

  • If you don't like this, then you are, in every concievable and even possible sense, a faggot.

  • really really cool! way 2 go

  • I find it pretty funny that a bunch of people who have never been in an actual real sword fight with their lives on the line think they can speak as to which style is the better. A bunch of kids who maybe spent some time in a dojo with play swords think they know anything about real combat.

  • @ian991 Not only that, but not all fights are the same anyway. Just because you've been in one doesn't mean you know what to expect. It all depends on the opponent, and people can be very diverse.

  • Oddly enough I think I found where the inspiration for R. A. Salvatore's, Drow swordsmanship comes from.

  • yep..... but I wish they were fighting instead of rythm blade dancing

  • @jordouellette then we had nothing to see .... or how long do you think a fight would last?

  • @Jiyukan considering a real duel is never long...... from 3 to 5 slashes/thrusts (if both are expriensed) ... or one slash for an experiensed Iaijutsu follower... but that's Wu shu, it's beautiful and graceful but it lack of senses battle-wise

  • @jordouellette

it's beautiful, if they're dancing then it means they are enjoying the good times. war can always wait

  • @jesserai ... lol yeah ... am not a dance expert I can't say... yep am one of those creepy old shcool warmongers... who reads Sun Tzu!

  • and who said girls cantt fight?

  • @DOA4rocks no body yu domb bith noone said anything so dont bring yur smart ass coments over here

  • @Fuckin17u wow english is clearly not ur first language otherwise ur comment would have made sence then it does and i ment my first comment as an OMG THAT IS AWESOME kind of comment so i would appreciate it u would not call me a "domb bith" anymore

  • @DOA4rocks oh im asuming your a girl so im sorry for my rudeness but really noone needs those stupid comments

  • @Fuckin17u This coming from Fuckin17u, you're all class bud.

  • @NucularRobit haha i kno my username is stupid but i didnt make this account and im sorry for tha bad comments im not mean to girls

  • @DOA4rocks clearly u get pissed because u need a way to troll him back, nice video

  • They are purposely targetng the other weapon and not the other person. I hope for their own safety they master that behind the scenes.

  • Dam this makes my training look like a ROOKIE, I still have a long ways to go this is obviously a Demonstration. But something to shoot for. @paintdataint once your outta ammo Im coming for you! LOL. Any fool can pull a trigger!

  • This is withut a doubt the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.

  • I don't know anything about sword fighting, but this is awesome!!!

  • Ufffffff that is fast, high speed, are they girls? if they are ufffffff wwwawww.

  • this is really gay

  • choreographed stuff like this looks cool... but dont confuse it with skill... its just muscle memory at this stage...

  • @VisigothicBerserker If you would really train at anything, your eyes would be able to pick up the detail necessary to judged skills. Stop downplaying styles you are ignorant of with words you don't understand.

  • @newtubetubetube Ive trained in many differing styles of martial arts. I am not one to make accusations without a purpose or strong foundation. I have a good grip on the english language, being that it is my fourth language I understand not everything may be perfect to a native speaker. What words did I say that I did not understand? Seems to me everyone else understood just fine, perhaps you should put two and two together.

  • @VisigothicBerserker "muscle memory" are the words you use without knowing their meaning. All training is about train that muscle memory. It is not just muscle memory, Muscle memory is everything. They move swiftly with empty mind. They display great skills and you are a idiot for downplaying them like this.

  • @newtubetubetube You know what you display? how moronic 13 year old fan boys can be. I know that seeing some litle asian guy with two swords turns you on so youll fight for him tooth and nail but the fact remains.... anyone can do what is in this video.. ever seen a 3 yr old rock the hell out on guitar hero? its because hes done it a million times muscle memory... now stfu dude... reading what your typing is like having my eyes raped by stupidity..

  • @VisigothicBerserker Sure, whatever. I am not going to argue with clueless.

  • @newtubetubetube haha wow.. yea clueless... Why would you even reply.. Your flagrantly inadequate at arguing your idiotic points of view... do yourself a favor and stop replying.

  • Comment removed

  • that was awesome

  • the spear person looks like shes always ducking. she wasntt as flashy as the double blader, but in the end of the video you could see her pushing off the oponent. i wish one day i would be jsut as good......

  • fake swords and fake spear

  • chinese=pro

  • yet another reason to be afraid of women

  • I'm not sure about Chinese swordplay but in Japanese, the only thing that ever beat Musashi's perfected two sword style was a style made specifically to counter his that uses a staff. Needless to say this is an even match up and a good fight.

  • People should really stop spamming this video with their elitist "guns are soo good attitude". People like what they want and some people respect swords over guns.

  • That's a viable fight in reality right? Two shorter weapons against one longer

  • i rather puick sowrds to stay in earth then a gun gun has no skill so u die with simple but a sword fight AWESOME! u die with respect and skill O_O- dont wanna die tho but if u lose battle then yea

  • @toontown115 I totally agree. Killing someone with a gun makes nobody a man, because you don't give the other one the chance to fight back.

  • @ZenTaww yea i mean are u saerous u aim and boom ur dead why not block and slice and duck and stuff WAYYY better

  • @toontown115 first, your sentence is horribly written. Also, guns take a LOT of skill. Take your skill at the range, your shooting in the field will only be 60% as accurate as at the range. That is if your target is standing still, if it's moving your in s**t creek.

  • @Altonahk LOL the number one was TOTAL right i suck at typing and yea i guess kinda aiming is a skill

  • Perfect practice makes perfect, practicing normally can go both ways, it can help you or disrupt you because you can be doing it right and/or wrong. Perfect practice means to practice the way the move or technique according to what his or her teacher teaches.

  • whoa kick ass!

  • am I in a freakin kung-fu movie?!?!?!?!

  • Faceplant at the end

  • this seems to me like a demostration of superiority od two swords against single spear.

  • bad ass

  • wow this is not choreopgraphed?

  • 0:15 Just an absurd spinning. No use in real combat or real show at all. You can counter him with hitting down his head, wiping his legs or stabbing his body hard. But don't forget to jumping backward before doing so.

  • @TruthDisciple1 Yeh, like watching wrestling. A real fight wouldn't let obvious opportunities slip.

  • that's not sparring, its choreography.

  • goodie for sniping and goodie for revolver drawing. Mastery over a sword or spear is for one, more honorable and for two, takes more training than mastery over any firearm. I'm not disputing what it takes to learn proper firearm training but the sword is just better in my opinion and the trainee just gets more out of his/her experience in learning

  • Theres more to sniping than just long range shots! Theres the art of concealment, communicating, being the eyes and ears of the commander!

But I'd take TASER over sword any day of the week! Especially the X3! No swordsman in the world can fight of electro neuromuscular incapacitation.

  • woah

  • no gun in the world requires anywhere near as much training as using a sword. Also, a person may or may not be knocked down from a round, depends on how much they want you to pay for shooting them, youd be amazed at what human beings can do under the influence of a cocktail of both self preservation and rage. On a final note, there will be several rounds flying, yes, but will they all neglect to be stopped by cover or any nearby refuse?

  • The revolver and the art of drawing. Sharpshooting from the waist is a godly talent.

Sniping also takes a lot of talent. There's more to it than just pointing and pulling a trigger.

  • I go my local shooting range and practice alot and I am good. But there are alot who cannot fire accurately at 7 yrds. Firing a gun is not that easy. Also Gun-kata takes years of practice and is really only useful in certain situations.

  • Everything requires practice and expertise.

  • @dantankun Not a nuke ;)

  • @dantankun except internet porn

  • gun-kata? lol, equilibrium

  • @iamjello by certain situations you mean ones where you will surely die unless the opposition cannot just shoot you...

  • @DrPracticleHat my bad i probably didnt explain it too well cause im lazy. There are krav maga self defense against gun videos.

  • @iamjello At 7 yards I am sure no matter what they do one of the 15 rounds from my glock will hit them... if not I have 2 more clips :)

  • @iamjello lol Gun-kata you have to be shitting me man. Thought both are good in their area, gun isn't good at close range and swords at long range.

  • @iamjello

This cannot be compared with shooting a gun. Practising this makes you sweat, firing a gun doesn't.

  • @ZenTaww hahahahaha, yeah it does.

  • @iamjello gunkata is not even practiced...if it has been, show me a vid because ive been trying to search for ages

  • @iamjello I have a rocket launcher and I can hit people in the eye with it without even aiming. It also hits their arm, leg, head, groin, etc. all in one shot.

  • @stinky472

    LOL very very true :)

  • Yeah.... but anyone who knows gun-kata will always win. Equilibrium FTW

  • omg shutup plz lol.

a gun: Close range the shooter is screwed, however at a long distance (and if u dont miss and hit a vital organ) youll win the fight

a sword: close range major advantage long range im screwed.

now if i have a gun and a sword and someone brakes into my home depending on the weapon they bear will depend on wether i cock my gun and blow their freakin head or i grab my Gum-do and slice their head off....argument settled. shutup!

  • A bullet impact is painful yes, but their are factors such as if its a grazing shot, if it embeds and how strong the constitution of the person hit. someone who trains in martial arts also trains their minds along with their bodies. I wont say bullets arent going to hurt like hell, but its not going to down them every time. A 9mm isn't going to knock you off your feet. Besides, who said it would be an instance where the swordsman wasn't armed?

  • lmfao!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • *sigh* A common ignorant belief that a gun can best a trained swordsman every time. Several factors have to be taken into considering during such a comparison. A: a few styles train the user to dodge projectiles as fast as bullets B: if you dont hit the swordsman in a vital place to stop him/her at once, odds are your losing that arm. C: Whose the bigger idiot, the one that dedicates their lives to the study of proper defense or the one who just picks up a weapon that requires no skill to use?

  • A: No, there's no style in wich you can dodge as fast or faster then a bullet, however you might predict when/where someone is gonna shoot and avoid it.

B: Depends on the ranges really... If you actually get a shot anywhere on the body while he's charging he will fall to the ground from the shot, in either tremendous pain or from the impact of the shot.

C: Definately the guy with the swords.... You never walk around with swords on town where rapes/murders/assault/robbery is common. Equilibrium!

  • A: You can dedicate your entire life to martial arts, but no one can dodge a bullet, you can predict where it will be, but remember, there will always be more than one shot.

B: Unless you're high or on drugs, a bullet hitting you almost anywhere is gonna stop you.

    (body, legs or arms.)

(plus firing a gun takes quite a bit of skill, otherwise military bootcamp would be a bit shorter...)

  • Guns are easy to use, and aren't easy to use at the same time.

Most people just grab a gun, illegally or in armed service and just point and shoot without perception.

Highly trained gunmen know that accuracy is important.

But unless you're a nutcase, the chances of being attacked by a gun is lower than the chances of being attacked by swords.

Some Martial arts actually teach gun use, mostly for military training.

Most of Chinas army is trained in Kung Fu before learning basic army drills.

  • China would have ruled the world if guns were never invented... XD

  • Actually, China had the earliest known guns :D.

Well they did have explosives that were easy to use.

I forgot what they were called, they used a bamboo tube and powder.

  • yeah, and it fired ALOT of rockets xD

(they also had the first fireworks o.o)

  • Huochong, Huoqiang, Shouchong and Tu Huo Qiang.

First Firearms :). Some dating back to the 10th century.

  • @Rikashiku Yeah seriously, China invented the gun, Europeans made it better. Now Europeans invent stuff that China makes better. Nothing wrong with that.

  • @Rikashiku I think it was call Hornets' Nest or something similar

  • im pretty sure a gun would end a fight against a idiot twirling around with a machete...

  • ill just stick with a glock....

  • me too

  • @paintdataint

MANILA, Philippines -- On May 21, 1967, almost 400 members of an obscure sect called Lapiang Malaya marched to Malacañang Palace to overthrow then President Ferdinand Marcos.

Holding bolos (machette) and bearing amulets, they charged into a group of policemen who blocked their path in Pasay City. After the skirmish, over 30 lay dead.

  • @dantankun whoa where did this come from?

  • ill stick with a a .44 magnum

  • @paintdataint my personnal fav gun: SCAR-H and a VECTOR maybe an uzi

  • @SuperSupersaiyan99 stop playing cod mate

  • @thehuffy Why I was just saying my favorite guns on Modern Warfare 2. I don't really play anymore. It got boring. Now I play GTA IV.

  • @paintdataint Lol you're fucked. I shottied a .44 mag.

  • Too bad it's all choreographed and people don't fight in real life in Asia like that D:

  • It is still real in countries that use machette in fight.

  • But this does not actually reflect reality, it's more like a dance.

  • It trains and develop that fighting intensity and skill to apply in real blade fighting. In countries such as in many South East Asia and Africa where machette fighting is still fought such as riots between clans and gangs this sword fighting will be effective in saving yours, your family and friends lives against the other side.

  • @dantankun Until some bitch brings out a gun. I'd like to see your dance come into effect then! Ahaa :L

  • @Salisaad If you can dance like that you are a very good fighter. Why your comment is the highest rated is beyond understanding.

  • @newtubetubetube Not only do you not know the context of my comment (it's nearly a year old, so comments that were actual back then are different from today's) and you also didn't get it.

What I wanted to say is that what we see is not a real fight, not even sparring - it's prepared and trained choreography like model situations in karate - this is why I compared it to dance.

  • @Salisaad Real fight would mean that one of both practitioner would get kill. You wont see that here, ever. Stop hoping to see that. Stop been displeased when you see it its "fake". Safe weapon sparring is not more realist then this. Kata are more then trained choreography, visualization make it real to the mind and it is efficient training.

  • @Salisaad thats why they call them CHOREOGRAPHED fights. this is only a competition, not reality so why does it have to reflect it 100%? its supposed to be a demonstration of their manuevers reflecting their range of martial talent, skill and strength...not "oh look im gonna do this exact form for a fight". sure, some people only learn it for competitions. but those who practice the applications that go along with forms WILL tear people apart

  • @Salisaad this is theatrics but swords are good if you know how to use them properly.

  • @Salisaad , this is not a dance. If you were to fight either one, you would feel the pressure and be cut into pieces or speared to death especially you know nothing about how these weapons work. Don't kid yourself, they are real as Jet Li is real. For demonstrations, they hold back. In real life situation, they cut you up and make breakfast of you with scrambled eggs and coffee. Oh, taste so good. haha.....

  • @wingchunexpert Onimusha Style to add. Slash Slash Slash x 10 before the samurai can even land one cut.

  • Comment removed

  • @TalesIncs yeah sure all Budokai are slow like hell... and we are all a bunch of jack asses who stand still in a fight. Dude you clearly don't know what's Kenjutsu don't ya. they're always wide open to attakcs, I only need one slash.... and it's over

  • ya but the art of fighting with weapons is pretty much dead as far as real combat goes

  • @darkdrag187 Nowadays. Ppl get a Sniper Rifle and kill everyone in Black Ops.

  • i apologize for the german user balubulaba,

this was a pretty good video,

i didn't know that a spear can be such a gallant weapon, the dash in 0:11 was incredible!

  • not too impressed in the repeating moves...

    good speed tho

  • Fuck movie's this is the good shit

  • fuuuukkkk i be afraid if i had a wife like that lol

  • was is das denn für ein scheiße hektisches rumgehopse?!?!so kann man doch nicht kämpfen, hampelmannschwachsinn

  • seen swords like these,

they bend easy, but straigthen out again.

but they also cut through small pieces of wood easy. So just wondering how the spear can be use to parry without breaking.

  • Those spears are made of flexible rattan or wood they don't break easily. usually to block they don't directly block sharp weapons but deflect it and counter attack because they are light, speed is what they count on a direct block especially against heavy blades the spear will break.

  • also important to remember that the sword user isn't trying to cut through or break the spear here. As your description says it's to develop timing and confidence, not to gain a victory over your partner at this particular moment.

  • nice moves

  • they also give massages and herpe ending

  • awsome

  • Lol a Kong Fu? I have never heard of Kong Fu. Is it taught by Grandmaster King? It must be in a huge dojo, he is a big guy xD.

  • Two minutes is too long.

  • ...... Red Belt?

Are we still talking about kung fu?

2 minutes is too long, usually you fight with a spear using 2 hands...

  • Um...She DID use two hands. I don't get your point.

Also, you all know this isn't an actual fight, right? It was choreographed. This is just an exhibition. Wushu matches are done without weapons.

  • 2 mins is too long even if don't have a weapon... nash is the next genius world record's stupidest person.

  • lol yah ok pal >.>

  • Yeah, sure. KOng Fu.... well, i'm a maste in Korate

  • 2 mins are 2 long, if you are good, it can just take two strikes.

  • 0:12-0:13

Perfect chance to cut her the spear user legs. They could have made it a bit realistic...

  • dude this is cool cause im trying to learn twin sword fighting but with scimatars

  • i like the movement from the girl with the 2 swords at 0:14 - 0:17

  • wow! was that choreographed?

  • Well choreographed.

0:20 (paused) If she were to pivot the spear off of the swords down towards her right, while swinging the other side at him, and sweep her left foot forward, then in and around (tripping motion)... she would have him pinned.

  • thats an act right?

  • lets replace the SPEAR with TWIN HOOKS

    :P

  • if we did (i think) twin hooks would win cuz the twin hooks are like swords (because they're sharp) only with hooks at the end of them

    that's MY opinion

  • yeh!i liked this`` bunkai``
