i tihnk it would have been cool if they had a quest for this like a grandmaster quest where you figure out nex is being freed of her/his imprisonment and you use the the other gods (Bandos, Armadyl,Saradomin, and Zamorak) by almst defeating them (or their Generals) and fight Nex so he/she is still freed but can't leave the dungeon. that would have been cool but some players would probly be mad because they can't do the quest or something.

lets get this straight. Zamorak and Nex are the Generals of Zaros Nex was stronger than Zamorak. Saradomin Froze him behind the Frozen door thats why its called the frozen door because it has been frozen by Saradomin. Zamorak did not knew about Nex. Nex is slowly regenerating his power and melting from saradomin's Magic. Nex is gunna take revenge for zaros but he little did he know zaros did not die but is on another plane of runescape. Nex is now attempting to break the frozen door.

OK im going to break this down simply because everyone is making it sound complicated. Zammy was zaros's general. Zammy betrayed zaros to become a god during the god wars. Zaros was the strongest god in the war, and as a result, all the gods (Bandos, Zammy, Sara, and Armadyl) teamed up to extinct their elite army from the world, but one member survived, Nex, so saradomin froze him in that room, and now its thawing and we have to go in and stop Nex from destroying the world.

This is Nex, the new GWD boss and Zaros's General. It's not Zaros nor Guthix.

But it is safe to say Nex is highly ranked in Zaros's army judging by the quote from the January Behind the Scenes information which says "Little did they know that another secret laid buried beneath the blood and snow – a prison of ice for the last army of Zaros, and its leader, the fearsome and majestic Nex." Anyway, the point is, Zaros nor Guthix are behind the door.

Zaros didn't take part to Godwars. I think it is Torva, a new god of some sort that commanded unknown army and was frozen and imprisoned by 4 gods. He must be really powerful if you need Zamorak. Armadyl, Bandos and Saradomin to seal him away xD

The history of godwars told about unknown army so I guess it is behind it.

In the quest to get the ancient curses you bring Zaros back to runescapes normal plane i guess is the best way to put it. My revenge will be great zammy betrayed him to become a god. Jaexes constant hints towards zaros with ancient spells curses treasure trail items. Only an idiot with the IQ lower than a shovel couldnt figure out its gonna be something zaros related. Plus there is no mage based armor like bandos - melee and armadyl - ranged. Zaros is a mage, so yea, makes sense right.

@SaithVids In The Temple at Senntisten you did not bring Zaros back to Gielinor/RuneScapes plane. You only made contact with him. You can even go back to Azzanadra now and talk to him asking how you plan to bring him back to Gielinor.

@rseradicatex Yea your right on that one its been a long time since i did the quest and i didnt pay too much attention to the dialog, but this has to be zaros if not possibly the dragonkin but i doubt that. I couldnt picture guthix saying the things that come out of the door you know.

Could it be Lucien teaming up with the Dragonkin or something? Lucien stated he wanted to be one of the gods or something along those lines and stole the stone of jas. The Dragonkin wanted revenge basically on everyone. Combined, their power would be almost infinite.
