  • Linkinpark like a lot of bands have gone techno ..CHEvELLE didn't ...true music

  • best band ever, everything about them is influential

  • The 1st five words make it: gave in again, the bastard.

Sept 27th, SD couldn't come soon enough.

  • @DoubtN3v3rm0r please dont ever mention linkin park in the same video as chevelle.chevelle is like juggernaut and linkin park is betty white.linkin park is weak compared to this.guy from linkin park sounds like screamo fag gettin it in the ass.this is awesome.his voice is that of an angel.from heaven or hell ,you pick but it is that of an angel.

  • been listening to chevelle since day 1..they fucking kick ass and his voice is phcycadellic..lol chevelle rocks ass!!

  • i think i just read someone mention Chevelle and the jonas brothers in the same paragraph. i like what youre trying to covey but come on man/woman....get a grip

  • Pete is perfect.

  • I want to see chevelle live so bad :0

  • im going to be like every other chevelle-loving girl right now: OMG PETE IS SHIRTLESS!

  • Pete loeffler and Matt Belamy are my biggest vocal inspirations ever

  • Those harmonys are just so freakin perfect!

  • shut up bernardini! you suck at singing!

  • @vitanovagypsy, he can sing live just as well as in the studio, it's just that it's difficult for him to play guitar and sing accurately. I know how it feels, im not a bad singer, but playing chords that dont match the rythmn of your singing is so tough! :P

  • Love chevelle! Peter better be getttin laid every night

  • @spongemike103 I don't know about that. Him and Renate have been together since the Wonder What's Next days, as far as I know. But if she is tired of him, I will GLADLY take her place! LMAO!

  • This is fucking beautiful

  • to all the ladies out there: how you havn't already raped this band i'll never know

  • I love the way Pete moves :D

  • @haterandtraitor Me 2... makes me get very naughty thoughts in my head. LOLOLOL.

  • i approve this vid, and Pete's nice body.

    :)

  • this video doesn't help cure me of my insane crush on pete...seeing him shirtless and sweaty only makes me think dirty, naughty thoughts. eep. *shields eyes*

  • @MandaOnFire89 I hope you get a chance to meet him (and the rest of the guys) like I did. A couple of summers ago I went to see them in concert and I actually have a picture of my brother and I with Pete on my facebook just search cody ender. This is NOT spam :-)

  • q bueno es chevelle hojala q todods los reguetoneros lo escharan para q se dieren cuenta lo q s bueno

  • I thought It was just Joe that went shirtless. Apparently not. Chevelle Rocks!

  • CHEVELLE IS AWESOME , WISH I COULD SEE THEM SOME DAY , KEEP IT UP PETE AND PLEASE COME TO ARGENTINA SOME DAY CUZ I FUCKING LOVE YOUR MUSIC,....

  • Joe really wasn't all of that. My opinion. But he DID put the bass for some good songs. Example: The Clincher. The 00:25 to 00:30 part. Sick. But, I love Dean. He's an excellent backup vocalist. And he can kick up his vocals when he has to. Example: Letter from a thief just after the solo. Dean is a true bassist. Big dude, big punch. Type in "letter from a thief live" second video. Great example.

  • love Chevelle!!! PETE with his shirt off too...woaaaa i need an inhaler to get my breathe back!

  • @StLRockinRose LOL!!!! sounds like u need to change ur panties too!...

  • @StLRockinRose lol well, yeah. it gets fuckin hot on stage.

  • one of my favorite songs :D

  • the old bassist cant sing very good, haha

  • I love chevelle... Joe used to take his shirt off but now he is not longer there so there you have pete awaited shirt off *drools*

  • eyelovechevelle(: ♥

  • I never really found Joe amazing. Everything he did just went along with the guitar...didn't really add anything to the mix. It's a rare thing to have a bassist that stands out and doesn't just provide the backbone to the rhythm.

For example, love or hate the Chili Peppers-they have a lot of songs that are mostly bass-driven and you have to admit Flea is one amazing bassist. I do realize I'm comparing two different styles of music here...so the bassist from Tool is also amazing.

  • @mrpowers4667 Joe never wrote any of his bass lines, Pete always wrote them so that's most likely why it doesn't stick out haha. But agreed, Flea is an amazing bassist, Justin Chancellor as well.

  • The words jonas brothers should never be used in the same paragraph or sentence as CHEVELLE!!!!!

  • @nuggetofchoice You did so :P

  • @nuggetofchoice well, your sentence does...

  • i just saw them live. that show was AMAZING!!!!

  • The best bands never go mainstream just look at the success Tool has had

  • hmmm dean was quite impressive in this....and i love him,but he isnt quite Joe.I find that i like this song better with joe, probably because thats the first way i heard it

  • starting at 2:15 Dean and Pete start to really connect vocally, Joe may have been amazing, but dean definitely fits the part, not only that but he married one of the Loeffler sisters. Chevelle forever

  • @labarrera13 So ur saying u want them to just play the cd and forget the performance? CheVelle ROCKS LIVE AND IN THE STUDIO!!!! ( whats wrong with u)

  • even so all posted you negatively, i believe that it was an awful live performance too (y)

  • @labarrera13 How is the singing "gay". (nice word choice by the way). It sounds the exact same on this performance as it does on the album. Even better, actually

  • I think Joe leaving the band wasn't the worst thing that could of happened. I have to say im pretty impressed with the new guy.

  • 2:47 is ALL i have to say....

  • Sexy

  • This is a great song! And great performance. Chevelle is the best.

  • Just saw Chevelle in Tampa tonight for the second time this year, and the ninth time ever, THEY ARE SO, SO DAM AMAZING every time I see them ! They are As good live, as they are on CD...Number 1 band !!!!!!!!!!!!! Dean You Rock ! Pete and Sam, incredible as always!

  • this is by far my favorite song by chevelle my band covers it i feel like such a badass when we play it lol

  • @chuckt427

    you should be! :D

  • 2:46...need I say more. :)

  • Yes. Once he hits that distortion pedal, the song goes from Incredible to EPIC!

  • Beautiful performance.

  • good song

  • It's the last song of their set that night, Pete was drained as fuck.

  • It's a little bit off key, but I still love 'em and this song it's just amazing! <3

  • kinda sloppy but alright

  • was thinking the same thing...

  • wow, this is a cruddy performance, they must have been drunk, come on Chevelle

  • wiped out. they wore out after get some and the clincher

  • what the fuck are you talking about ?

  • I think the reason for this is because this is such a personal song to Pete. In my opinion I believe this song was written about his brother Joe after leaving the band. So when he sings it I think he is in an emotional mindset. Im not hating on you.

  • I don't think so. Joe was still in the band when they released the song on This Type Of Thinking.

  • It was about a save the children commercial

  • is it really, cuz the lyrics go with that pretty well lol

  • One of my fav songs by chevelle... Think it could sound so much better with JOE playing bass but if he was still in the band then I don't think this song would even be here today. Seems as is pete is playing it cuz of joe...*notice his shirt is off* (Joes signature jam mode on stage). Love me some chevelle tho.

  • This was a kick ass album.

  • this is a greart performance i like it

  • i love chevelle especially their unique writing structure but im kinda disappointed as well. the guy seems to be having an orgasim while he sings and the bassist is consistently off pitch. idk...

  • this song makes me horny

  • Actually i agree with you.

It's a matter of how hard you want to try at making everything you do the best it can be. Like Between the Buried and Me, they are perfectionists live and when it comes to recording.

  • the bassist is a horrible singer

  • i like joe :)

  • i like dean and joe :)

  • Comon Dude Dean Is Awesome!

  • i agree... +1

  • great song and one of the most inspiring bands out thetre three AMAZING GUYS GO CHEVELLE!!!!!!

  • Chevelle is so kickass man. I hate that they are always put alongside so many kids music and happy commercial mainstream bullshit. They are dam heavy and more soulful than much of the "alternative" scene today. By far better than linkin park, or jonas brothers.

anyhow, this 3 man band tears the shit out of the stage everytime! Keep it heavy and keep it real Chevelle.

  • @Nelahblue Did you really have to compare them to Jonas Brothers, Nela...?

  • @Nelahblue they do!!!!! they r the freaking best i love them cause there not mainstream and not happy very soulful it makes me just go into awe cause people now a days think there so cool to say the same word over in over again but pete just puts his passion in it!!!!

  • @iamunusuable "i love them cause there not mainstream", thats pretty shallow. You shouldnt care whether a band is mainstream or not, its about the feeling the music gives you not about whether or not they get readio play.

  • @Nelahblue idk if they r better linkin park but they are good

  • @Nelahblue I just saw their concert in Wausau,WI last night. IT was funny how they broke their guitars and from where I was sitting it lookd like they kicked a hole thru the bass drum.

  • @Nelahblue You can't compare The Jonas brothers and Linkin Park, I know some people believe that LP are way too commercial...but as a matter of fact LP have always done what they want and they're alowed to do so 'cause they're great musicians.

Chevelle is great and I fucking love 'em I'm with you in that and I agree...there's a lot of shitty and commercial crap out there, LP however ain't one, powerful lyrics and great original sounds unlike any other.

    Peace.

  • @Nelahblue Chevelle is kickass. I don't get how you don't think Linkin Park is heavy, tho. Listen to their first two albums. Furthermore, how do you draw any correlation whatsoever between Linkin Park and Jonas Brothers? That made no sense. Maybe I'm missing something since you posted your comment two years ago. Again, I cannot stress how amazing Chevelle is. (Just so you know I'm not attacking you or whatever.)

  • GREAT GREAT GREAT! Chevelle rocks!

  • weird to see pete shirtless lol usually it was always joe =D CHEVELLE FAN SINCE 97! WOOT!

  • This doesn't sound bad to me... When they play songs live Pete usually takes higher harmonies and they are mixed a lot better on the CD so people just aren't used to hearing the high harmony so loud

  • It's live.....it's supposed to be different. Sounds great to me

  • yeah i agree. I love that the bass is a lot louder too. Its got a great feel to it

  • like the song ... but they butchered it right here

  • not there best work live, and they're usually really good live.

I agree, yes bands sound different live, but Chevelle just doesn't sound good here. Pete's pitch is all off, akin to that of a drunk person performing karaoki.

  • i agree and disagree. I think Pete being a slight bit off pitch here is symbolic, but you are right Chevelle isnt amazing live, i thought Fair to Midland blew em away

  • best chevelle song

  • I luv this song !!! :D

  • I abso-SMURF-ly love this tune.

I love alot of there songs, but this one is slightly my favorite.

  • Not including the fact that when you are on stage, whether you have Earphones or not you can hardly hear yourself. This can really dampen your ability to hear the Higher Notes.

  • sometimes singers/guitarists just rip em out

  • One of the best songs by Chevelle

  • BUENA ROLA BRAVAZA

  • pretty damn good

  • Um, well if you guys haven't noticed, that when music is recorded they modify the voices. I am a true Chevelle fan, and I say they played wonderfully, everyone sounds like shit live, but Chevelle did really good.

    [[:

(Plus the music they play involves alot of screaming so his voice WILL get worn out.)

Beautiful job guys, keep making your music, I love it.

  • Exactly tzooor.. thats wat i said...if you were jammin like a mother youd be off key too!! Chevelle rules!!

  • iunno y ppl r saying it sounded bad live, imagine singing a couple of songs that have a screaming variation in it and ur hot as balls, u wont b able to match the exact pitch as recorded.

  • they sound ok here? think it was b/c they knew it was recorded?

  • I love this song but I'm sorry his vocals in THIS performance sounds like utter shite

  • dam i missed them in my state utah shit, I hated myself for not going. I like jumped off a bridge and didnt die sadley..ROCK ON CHEVELLE

  • yea I love Chevelle but this is not their best performance of this song, but Family system was flawless from this concert. When I saw them in Nashville they played this song much better

  • great song, bad performance

  • realize that they just performed the clincher right before, his vocals were worn out

  • ya i can totally see that. I've seen them play live a few times, including the taped NORVA show and this sounds like he's really aired out.

  • Um, well if you guys haven't noticed, that when music is recorded they modify the voices. I am a true Chevelle fan, and I say they played wonderfully, everyone sounds like shit live, but Chevelle did really good.

  • I'd have to disagree with

    everyone sounding like shit live..

I believe a good band is the band that

plays live shows as a part of life. Alot

of bands are better live than on the rcord.

    Chevelle is awesome though. :)

  • Staind is a great band live.

  • yes they are, a rare few play as well live as they do in the studio including: metallica, U2, staind, alice in chains, and RATM.

  • Don't forget TOOL in that one.

  • yep tool too, also three days grace when they don't hand out pot to the audience members.

  • You say it as if it's a bad thing :P

  • what? pot? yeah it is bad it makes you fucked up. Even though Cliff Burton smoked pot, but that doesn't makes it better lol ;P

  • HAHAHAHA some people are so naive...

  • if you scream properly you shouldnt lose your voice... there are three proper techniques that im not gunna get into... watch the DVD "The Zen of Screaming"

  • fucking amazing

  • amazing.

  • Oh wow! I love how he plays shirtless!

    aafdsgfhgjh *dies*.

  • the bass player should keep in silence, he distract Pete thats why it doesnt soud good in some parts.. Chevelle fucking rules!!

  • Harmonics (I think they are) are a little bit screwed, practice makes perfect.

  • or just makes the rut of badness even deeper O_O ...Still sounds good though

  • they brought the house down in columbus last week.

  • Eh, not their best performance at all, but I love this song.

  • i saw chevelle a few nights ago, they were not very tight at all. This singer was off key often and he made a ton of mistakes on the guitar. The crowd was definitely into it (and crazy) but they didnt even encore. I guess i will just listen to thier studio versions of tunes for now on

  • Well you aren't even a Chevelle fan so........?

  • well that was....ah.. ok?.

  • the drums should be situated in the middle,,

  • how was this video recorded?

    {can i find more from this show?}

  • I FREAKIN LOVE IT!!!!!!

i don't know why, but it made me cry!

    I love chevelle!

  • me, too...

this is a very emotional song & performance...

    wait...does pete have.....biceps..??

    {HA HA HA HA}

  • I know!

    it gets me everytime!

    I think so!

    He's freaking perfect! lol

  • EXACTLY!! WE THINK THE SAME...COOOLL...

I THINK THE BEST PART FOR THAT IS EXACTLY @ 2:47 HA HA HA, it's the best....

  • yes it's pretty nifty! lol

it's an awesome guitar break down :D

    ifreakinlovehim!

  • i fucking love his voice :)

  • I like how he sings this live. It seems more emotionally, like the Clincher

  • I agree, this has to be one of their better ones. I watched a few others and he didn't even try singing on the break down part, but he pretty much nailed it here. I was impressed =P

  • finaly a good version that was'nt done in the studio

  • i love chevelle and think pete's a great songwriter... but the harmonies and his playing is off here. live, i think they should have a second guitarist so he can concentrate more on his vocals. also, he has his guitar so low that he's slicing through the strings instead of picking them giving that "swoosh" sound. not good :(

sorry, but this was hard to listen.

  • everybody's a critic these days. lets see you get on stage and do that. where are your live performances???

  • i'm a big fan of chevelle, but i didn't think this was a good performance. sorry, but that's just my opinion.

we criticize our favorite sports players and team but since we're not pro players we cant' critique?

btw: you can check out my stuff at charetta dot com if you want to see my band and performances. where's yours?

  • Anyone would agree with on that if there was a dedicated guitarist, the vocals and the guitar would be more precise. But that's part of the reason I respect chevelle so much; they do what they do with 3 members..and they do it pretty damn well IMO.

You speak of critiquing sports teams but you comment would be like saying "The LA Lakers would be better if they had 6 players on the court instead of 5."

  • actually i don't think if they had just a vocalist they would be more precise. its hard at first to play and sing but after a few months you get used to it. some songs [mainly crazy screams lol] would help, but not for this.

he did get a little scratchy at some parts, but i'd blame that mainly on touring

  • BTW, I respect you for actually having a band. Props on that. But I could point out nuances of your performances that aren't perfect. But you know what? I won't...because I respect you.

  • i appreciate that. if it's constructive criticism then it's all good and i'll welcome it.

look, i think chevelle is a great band and writes great music. for this particular song, i think they could have benefited from a second guitar, but that's just me. many 3 piece bands have extra musicians on stage when performing live: green day, nirvana, are a few that come to mind.

maybe i'm just watching too much american idol!

  • @preludepatrick i know rite?

  • I WANT THE WHITE PRS

  • no mames la rola sta de poka madre... a mi m encanta... pero la neta aki se escucha super kagada.. q fregada tenia la voz aki eh!!!

  • this reminds me of JOE :(

  • i know huh :( :( :( :(

  • WHYYY :(

  • who's joe :(

  • joe was their old bassist. Just look at the music video " Vitamin R". He's the blond wearing no shirt.

  • I think he was being sarcastic.

  • This is a good taping! The drums are mic'd up pretty nice, they sound perfect.

  • tightest band ever

  • * * * * *

  • great music

  • love this fucking song

  • no manches amo esta cancion

    para ame de mi parte

    tkm

  • well obviously none of you people saying that Pete can't sing live are blind.

The fact that he has no shirt on is more or less an indicator that this was towards the end of the show, therefore after rocking the fuck out of the place he'd be bloody tired.

I'd love to see any of you do better, and don't suggest I do, because I perform regularly around town, despite living in a rural shit hole...

  • :( i live in a rural shit hole too

  • love this song though they dont seem that good live, pretty sucky really

  • that's just my opinion if you like it or not so don't be a childish bitch!
