@elochka21 not much, its mains natural gas so maybe 1 kPa (0.15 PSI) thats why i have a 1/2" jet, so i can get the amount of gas required, and the forced air is required because the gas is not going fast enough to create its on venturi effect.
@fungusamogus it takes up more room is less controllable dirty takes longer to get running and the amount of work involved far outweighs the $3 an hour this costs to run. i do use homemade charcoal in my forge but for ease of use this wins hands down
Great effort and innovation! I love that nice roar it had just before it went out, but is that garden hose your using? That hose can be eroded by propane, natural, and MAPP gas. It may serve you well for a while, but just be careful.
not with natural gas no.. and your gas room/central heater or gas water heater would use the same.. this just keeps it in a hotter more centralized flame (well uses a little more but the cost of natural gas is small, if you were on propane you would use more but you would also have higher pressure so you could NOT use low pressure hose, but you could get just as hot without the fan helping)
What pressure of gas in this gas line?

so its simply a gas tube to which you blow air?

@fjoa123 yes and no you need to make sure that it has a venture effect on the gas input so it suck the gas in aswell.

@fungusamogus you mean you remove small animals habitat. plus wood is no good in a forge it needs to already be charcoal,

that is just a test rig and garden hose wont be used in the final setup, dont worry about that
