I enjoyed Fireproof and Sherwood's other movies, but Courageous was by far the best quality of them all. Don't know what the other posters were talking about, but this was a first rate "Hollywood big budget" quality production, acting, lighting, direction, stunts, action, everything was beyond reproach.
If you haven't seen it yet, make time and find the money, because it is worth it!
Terrible acting I think. I liked the story. I honestly think it could have been worlds better. It shouldn't have JUST been about God. But thats my opinion

@CAutoC3 I recommend reading the movie novel. There is about another 1 hr. of film out there. The Conversation of Adam with his pastor goes on for about 5 minutes and not like 3 minutes.

when I walk into a movie theater and spend 8 bucks on a ticket and another 10 on some popcorn and a coke...I don't expect the actors to do a pretty good job... #5 overall this weekend, #1 in PER THEATER numbers!!!! $8.8 million the first week on a $2 mil budget. Hollywood does not make movies this good and this well. Praise God and I pray God can help me be courageous when I am a father and a husband!

Kendrick brothers truly will not compromise the quality of their film unlike others that portray a christian them but with comedy which only leads to confusion. lets not compromise people or else the world will not see the difference Christ has been to us .

There are plenty of humorous scenes in these movies and that's a good thing, but yes, comedy at the expense of good solid doctrine should be avoided like the plague! Thank God for the folks at Sherwood, 3 movies and they started so strong, even on such a thin shoestring and are only getting better through the grace of God! I would love to see about 40-50 churches give them a run for their money, though. Can you imagine how 10-15 God honoring, Christ-loving, true gospel teaching movies every year would effect our nation?!? =D

I saw this movie in a conferencess on 1/29/2011, it was shown by my church Saddleback. This movie changed totally the way I was doing my parenting in my kids. This movie is really powerfull and it's going to make you cry alot not just ones but alot. Watch this movie totally awesome. I'ts not cheese or lame believe me.

When you said "people need the true love of God in their life", are you referring to achieving happiness + satisfaction in their lives, or purely in terms of achieving a place in heaven (or both)? Cuz surely you will agree that there are many theists/atheists/agnostics who live their lives without sorrow or regret despite not knowing Christ.

Glory to God that there are men who are not ashamed of the gospel. Kendrick brothers truly will not compromise the quality of their film unlike others that portray a christian them but with comedy which only leads to confusion. lets not compromise people or else the world will not see the difference Christ has been to us .

There are plenty of humorous scenes in these movies and that's a good thing, but yes, comedy at the expense of good solid doctrine should be avoided like the plague! Check out Ken Davis, Dennis Swanberg, Mark Lowery and others for great humor that also glorifies our LORD. @terencehall0930 Sweet Lord Jesus, YES!!! Also Flywheel, Facing the Giants (also great if you like football!), and Fireproof! Thank God for the folks at Sherwood, 3 movies and they started so strong, even on such a thin shoestring and are only getting better through the grace of God! I would love to see about 40-50 churches give them a run for their money, though. Can you imagine how 10-15 God honoring, Christ-loving, true gospel teaching movies every year would effect our nation?!? =D

I saw this movie in a conferencess on 1/29/2011, it was shown by my church Saddleback. This movie changed totally the way I was doing my parenting in my kids. This movie is really powerfull and it's going to make you cry alot not just ones but alot. Watch this movie totally awesome. I'ts not cheese or lame believe me.
