  • way to go if it feels good do it . volumn and repeat works guess im spoiled even though i can do most jobs in less than 30 minutes its the travel time that gets me being a lone wolf

  • WE had a guy in our area try this on 100.00 per drain , he went under ,licences ,insurance ,taxes, truck upkeep ,gas, equipment ,blades ,cables, invoices, and paying your men a salary that keeps their family provided for, this would never work here in alabama

  • Volume of calls and repeat customers.

  • There's just no way. I don't know about where you are, but around here, a 1 page, full length Yellow Page ad, no color, starts at around 12k per month. You'd have to run almost 250 calls, just to pay for a yellow page ad.

  • how do you pay your men a decent wage provide liability insurance ,keep your trucks running .equipment in good shape ,pay your taxes ,business licences ,and run a legal business working so cheap ????

  • what about warranty? do you guys warranty ther job for 30 or more days??

  • Yes, our job comes with warranty.

  • how do you pay your technicians, hourly or commission? Do they own the truck or equipment and have to lease it from you like taxicabs are leased to drivers?

or do you own the truck and equipment and just pay the techs for work performed.

  • Trucks and equipment is company owned.

  • What about tech's pay? hourly or commission. I am fascinated by your business model. I really don't understand it. Even with high volume you had to start somewhere with one truck, right?

  • What if you get your cable hung up in a main with roots and your there a couple hours, and screw your cable all up,still 49.95?

  • It doesn't happen that often that our cable gets stuck in the line, and if it does, our main priority is to get it out of the line. If the cable gets messed up, well thats our bad luck.

  • How much is it to get a sewer unclogged and a kitchen sink on the same call?

  • $49.95 X 2

  • So, if i were one one of your customers and I called you out to unstop my sewer I would only pay 49.95? Are there any dispatch fees involved?

What if you have to use an extra reel of cable??

What are your rates for repairs, p-traps, broken cleanouts etc ?

  • That is correct. We will unclog any one sewer or drain for $49.95. There is no dispatch fee, night fee, weekend fee. We do run into jobs that require extra cable etc but even that price is way lower than what other sewer companies charge. We don't normally get involved with plumbing, our concentration is towards sewer and drain cleaning.

  • How much is a second drain? Is there a limit on how many times I can call you to unclog a drain for 49.95 in a given time, for example only one drain cleaned for $49.95 in a months time frame ??

  • No time frame, any one sewer or drain unclogged for $49.95.

  • I too have a 24/7 operation with No extra charge nights weekends or holidays, but I could never compete with those prices with the cost of fuel, insurance, tech pay, workers comp, owners salary, truck maintenance, telephones, advertisment and all that stuff that I am sure that you have. I could never make the numbers work. You must have a heck of an accountant.

  • It also depends on where your business is, NY is densely populated, people will need sewer and drain companies every now and then. Our steady price has kept our growth rate very high and we have been able to over come all expenses with the volume of our calls.

  • I just do not understand the math involved in pricing your services. This is not a slam, I do not understand how you can pay a tech, pay for a van and insurances and break even, much less make any profit.

I would like to know how it is done, of course I am not in your area (I am in georgia) so competition is not a factor.

  • 24 hour operation, with no extra charges for nights weekends and holidays. Word of mouth, customers referring us to their friends and family and a fleet of trucks ready to take care of their problems. The number of jobs that we perform everyday probably exceeds twice that of our competition. The number of jobs we have been doing everyday has been on a steep rise since we started $49.95 Any Sewer or Drain.

  • Well that's good that you are looking out for the customers. But I'm a business man, I'm looking out for my family. I will do less jobs, but make more per job. So for every job I do, you have to do six to match my income. You are working harder, but I'm working smarter.

  • You might be correct, we probably do have to do more jobs but we have a huge customer base that is growing everyday. Our customers love our work and price and whenever they have another clog they call us. Businesses only grow with happy and repeat customers, this a simple business logic.

  • Sure, people may love you, but I'd rather do one job for $180.00 than have to do three and a half jobs to make the same money. I just don't get how you make a profit at those numbers. What am i missing?

  • We'll, our customers use us repeatedly and recommend us to their family and friends. So, I would say repeat customers are a huge factor behind our success or to any business out there.

  • Thats the whole point, we are not salesmen, our customers already know the price before we go to their house. You cannot compare sewer cleaning with burgers, eating out is an option, when people have more money they will eat at better places. Sewer back up is a serious problem and the consumers should have a better option than paying hundreds of dollars.

  • We do not believe in salesmanship, and the low price is not there to get customers, low price is there to give customers a better and perhaps more efficient service for less. You can take this as a difference between microsoft windows and the Linux Operating systems.

  • Both Operating systems are good but linux is way better and stable at a very low cost. (Most linux OS are free but to get support a little fee is charged)

  • I know Linux has less users, but those users are growning extremely fast.....and are our customers.....

  • Well, that might be so. 6 times less. My question is, why would a company charge so less for this type of work. Is that the only way they can get business? Where is their salesmanship? They are just hurting the industry.

  • Yeah, that price is crazy. I've been a drain tech for about 2 years now. No way I give the service away for that amount. But just like every industry, you have your cheap undercutters, and your professionals. I routinely sell jobs $100 over the competitors bids. Customers really don't mind spending the money, if you provide good customer service and professionalism. Go ahead and keep selling them for $49 bucks, and I will keep selling mine for $300.

  • we'll....hundreds of thousands of unique customers cannot be wrong, you are right, customer will pay more but they will not call you again next time. Especially if they have a very cheap alternative to your $300 vs $49.95.

  • Customer dont mind paying more, but they sure will mind to pay more when they find out that there is an alternative to the $300 they pay and the alternative is 6 times less.

  • To each their own. Any business I open, I'm going set my prices competitively. I'm a sales person and a professional, it's not about price is about salesmanship. No you are wrong, we have companies here advertising in the paper 100 bucks, but our loyals customers still call us.

  • They trust us, and have been doing business with us for years. Think of it this way, you can get a 99 cent burger at rally's, or McDonalds but you can get a real burger at a Steak House or sit down restaurant for 8 bucks. Both business will strive cause you will always have chealp people that want everthing for free, and you will alway have people who understand workmanship and will pay the premium.

  • This is the best sewer company in tri borough area. If you are looking to save real money call them, you would be paying alot more if you didn't.

  • thank you for your kind comment, we appreciate it.

  • cars+equipment+maintanance=how much??

  • We'll it does cost alot, i can't put any numbers, but the fact of the matter is that our "job volume" is really good. Our customers love us.

  • We'll we know one thing for sure with experience, "plumbers" do not do and usually prefer not to unclog drains. Plumbers do tend to change the pipe rather than unclogging it. The amount a person would spend to have his sewer or drain replaced, they can easily call us and have their sewer or drain snaked numerous times over the next few years and still save money.

  • way to race to the bottom

  • Don't be jealous.

  • jealous ha I am also a plumber and I snake drains too most main sewers to properly clean take between one to two hours to complete. that time invested, plus fuel, advertising, workmans comp, insurance, maintence on equipment, on vans etc.. that price is crazy the way i see it either you pay your employes min wage ( and if you do you should be ashamed) or have a bunch of illegal mexican workers or are all independent contractors

  • Our employees make more than what an average sewer and drain company can pay. We handle "alot" of jobs and our mechanics are really good in trouble shooting the problem and taking care of it in a "timely" manner. We dont have any "illegal" mexicans, though you should be ashamed of using a stereotype like this. Anyway, enjoy~
