I always understood Laura's jealousy. It's normal. She was the tomboy and did most of the things with Charles that a boy would do. And like most girls, Charles was her heart.. And she did feel hurt being left out, Laura loved Albert and loved spending time with him too. So it wasn't really Albert she was mad at, the person she was really mad at was Charles. He never once nor tried favoring his kids one over the other. But in this one, he did kind of favor Albert over Laura, and that hurt.

They went to Winoka, for 5 episodes I believe, but coudln't adapt to the New Orleans lifestyle Winoka had with noise 24 hours a day and not able to sleep. The area had no proper schooling for Laura or Albert. Mr. Standish was not a good boss at the motel Charles and Caroline worked in. WHen they left, Mary had to stay behind with Adam to run the blind school. Then when the school folded, Mary and Adam both settled in W Grove then Sleepy Eye.

Pa should have given the calf to both Laura and Albert, so they could raise it together and bond as brother and sister. Giving it to just one child isn't fair, one will obviously be jealous. And that way even if Laura HADN'T wanted the calf, she would have felt more included because Pa would have at least tried to include her.

Laure should really know that no one can replace her with her pa. He loves her with all his heart. She should just get over it. I really didn't like this episode because she was such a btch in it.

why is charles so ok with albert being in a fight usually when laura or mary got into a fight they would always be scolded for that. I guess it has to do with albert being a boy and all.

@nakatsu2008 Yeah I know what you mean. I prefered Laura in her later years. She got on my nerves how she would smile and think she was always right or how she always had to fight or put up her fist. I always liked Albert way better than Luara. :)

Well, Laura CAN be kind of a know-it-all at times, and can also be a little annoying.Plus, she's always jealous of someone (her baby brother, Albert, Mary, even Brenda Sue in later episodes). Sorry, but I can understand why Charles would favor Albert a bit; he's good-natured, mischievous, and has a much more interesting personality.

Yeah, but Laura was always her fathers favorite. Because he had no son, he let Laura become a kind of a son to him. I do understand how they both feel, but feel sorry for Laura...
