@ianpasicolan i agree. it's not a bad journey that he takes with the song. and the one at radio's one big weekend this year is really cool. but theres no need for it other than to rest his voice for that part. i'd like to hear it as the four minute, high-energy rock/punk jam that it is but i understand it's impossible to sing that part the way he does on the record. so then why write it that way? idk. one of my favorite songs by one of my top three bands, but with a slight disappointment live :/

Nothing wrong with sounding the best like it is sounded on the record, but it's their simple intention of sounding "human" in front of the audience. "Sometimes it sounds good, sometimes it sounds bad; that's what you're gonna get from us", quoting Dave Grohl in an interview.
