I'm amazed at how some people still don't understand how the world works now days. So what if it takes some concepts from Diablo? Everyone takes shit and copies from one another. Look at Torchlight, almost a copy of Diablo. Look at Dota, LOL, HON, Darkness & Light and Demigod? Same concept pretty much. Look at Minecraft, Fortresscraft and Terraria. So Is every FPS game Call of Duty? Is every MMORPG game World of Warcraft? As long as they're good, then enjoy the shit out of them and stfu.

The fact that you can pick between different squads of characters to play as KILLS the replay value of this game. And that it gives you the option to completely switch characters if you can't beat a level. That's pathetic and offers no challenge. Sure, the ideas of the game sound cool but how the hell are you going to have a DECENT storyline controlling nothing but monsters? Only an idiot would compare this to D2. D2 has won pc game of the year two times in a row. This will win NOTHING!

The games worth it, i tested it, it may have only had 11 levels to test in it, but i had fun playing them, i even replayed most of the levels ive played. If you dont like repetition or have a group of friends to play with you, you wont like it, but if you and a bunch of friends are going to get it, than this game is well worth the money.

I am not complaining about being a diablo copy, I meant that for being a copy, darkspore will loose many possible players that will choose the original one that is in the market for much more time. I still think this game is fucking amazing, and if blizzard charges us monthly to play Diablo III, for sure I will play Darkspore and don't give a thing for diablo. Pros: New game concept. Fun PVP system.

I got into the beta of this randomly. And to anybody who's thinking of buying it, don't. It's a complete waste of time, money and hard drive space. It's essentially a top-down, 3rd person shooter/hack and slash game with a few RPG elements. And it's awful. The storyline is cliche, the gameplay is bland, and... really, there's just no logical reason to waste money on it. I'd rate it a 1/10. Terrible, Maxis. Just terrible.

But it's to be expected, I guess. Spore sucked ass, too.

I enjoyed the creation part of Spore, but the gameplay was a little lacking. This looks to be pretty good if the creating part is kept as open as Spore's.

I wish they would create the prototype 2005 version but they never will. I was so hyped when I saw the demonstration and thought: FINALLY, THE GAME OF MY DREAMS. Creative, sophisticated and scientific. A whole living biosphere, influenced and created by the community itself, the perfect simulation for evolution of life under specific conditions. this game has very nice graphics, very new, completely original, and resembles a bit of diablo... diablo used to be the only one of its kind and now EA is making a similar one.

YAY, for example there are thousands of mmorpgs like maplestory.. but this is original and is definitely worth playing.

@darklol261 I just played the beta. Knowing that the game is still new and that I've just started it, I do expect more from it, gameplay wise. The story sucks though, I hope EA changes it, because all it is right now is a multiplayer game to play with your friends IRL. In other words, single player sucks.

Oh, and setting doesn't make a game good, it just defines it. Who cares about 100 flat heroes (400 if you count tech trees) when I can have 7 good ones which are highly customizable.

@darklol261 I don't like this game. it is to repetitive, linear and the character editor is okej but it can not hold the game up. for me i just see 100 characters with 3 ability's that every one else is going to have. i like skills trees and have different ability then others, sure in later levels people don't play whit the same characters that i use, but me and them can just go in to the menu and change that. i would take almost any other RPG over this game (yes even diablo 1).

You know what i think? The ORIGINAL Spore were SO awesome, the evolution, the space stage, the laboratories, it was an epic win. And now they made DarkSpore, a complete MMO! It wouldn't be SPORE, it's just about fighting, get DNA (exp), and it's only Spore, cause it's about evolution. I'll check out this "DarkSpore" but i don't think i'm up to it.
