I've been hearing a lot of stuff about HOPOs being "harder" of GH1, but apparently still possible. So since i never got GH1 how exactly are they done??

If the hopo is say... GRYRG... when you strum the G, you have to keep it held down to hammer on the R. Both G and R need to be held down to hammer on the Y. In order to pull of to play the next R, you have to release Y at the exact moment the R note crosses the line, and likewise for the G. It's a subtle difference, but it is a lot harder to do in-game.
