Even if you have a certain license, you still need a good place to shoot. I can imagine somebody getting a license, learning about the importance of safe distance, etc. But they get back home, and then shoot off big stuff in their small backyard because they don't have easy access to a good shooting location.
Haha very true in some respects. I believe that we should have higher comp limits in aerials, and firecrackers. I do not, however, believe that they should allow salutes. I think that they should open up some areas for use of pyro such as new york. I think it should be easier to get permission for a 1.4 display in non-pyro friendly areas. I however live in Missouri so I don't suffer to much with those laws :)
@davis050594 Yeah I just go to Indiana for my works, so everything works out just fine lol. I had this discussion some time ago with people, it would be nice if there could be an intermediate license between type 54 and a normal consumer, where people could purchase baby b/super c items by passing a basic test, with minimal laws and regs. Let's face it, some of the 1.3 out there isn't way more dangerous than 1.4. Louder maybe, but you see my point. What do you think?
Yeah I'm thinking the same thing. I think they should allow like a 100g aerial limit and more like 750-1000 gram cake limit. If you look at the majority of b cakes, they are not bigger shells, it's just more. I would love to get a real peacock cake, I think that 600 shot peacock cakes would be fine to sell to someone with a good shoot site and some common sense.
It's one thing to be active in fireworks and attend local pyrotechnic events. It's another thing to actually take the camera with you and allow others, who may not have the opportunity to visit these places, to see what it's like from your point of view. Your videos are always interesting and educational and I thank you for another great upload.
are there any of these on the west coast? and do you have to be a certain age to sign up??

@chicagofireworks True, but they aren't as careless. I don't consider that safe though.

As for that last segment, that is why you don't ingest lit salutes.
