  • I dropped at least one out of every three calls on rogers...they also have the worst customer service...i know poeple that worked for them, they actually train their employees to be like that on purpose! Bell doesn't drop calls, but their customer service is just as bad...

  • @liddiek - When you are talking to Rogers, You are not talking to Rogers employees, so they don't give a shit, and why would they for next to minimum wage. Most are outsourced to bottom-feeder call centers or off shore.

  • Rogers bought out Fido/Microcell, migrated subsribers to their system, then destroyed their network. Nothing remains. Fido subs are essentially roamers on Rogers. Coverage/reception/call quality is the same.

    Customer service on the other hand...

    I've never had Rogers for phone service, but I've had them for internet service. Their "high speed" internet was slower than dial-up XD

  • Then go through your entire cable setup with a tech. That's what you pay for right?

    I did it, I have 2GHz splitters, a DC-Tap, new DOCSIS 2.0 modem and hit d/l speeds faster than DSL max theoretical in my area. All the equipment was free and every tech turned down coffee...not sure why, but I'm impressed with Rogers Internet. Cell phones---DIFFERENT story all together ;). Don't do it.

  • we did call up a tech. He said that we weren't close enough to the internet tower and that we had to degrade our internet. So we did and it went even slower -_-

    So we switched to Telus and now my internet is super fast :D

  • GEEK ALERT! Bear this in mind - GSM service is not too extensive in Canada where most towers are either CDMA or analogue: most good reception could be found in VERY major metropolitan centres. And Rogers will be getting the iPhone. Think about this fact before you start to spring for the bling.

  • ..2003, is that you? None of the providers even support analog anymore. And while most of the towers as a whole are CDMA, it's not like Telus CDMA towers are compatible with Bell CDMA towers. So yes, geek alert, but a different one: You have no idea what you're talking about.
