Manowar is basically dark ages type crusader metal, and they are top notch at capturing "that" sound, but Helloween was total balls out power metal. 5 dudes playing full throttle with a big sound. 2 really different genres of metal. Both bands are among my favorites. I give helloween the edge because they pack a hell of a lot more music into their songs. I played stuff from both bands in cover band situations and the harder Helloween stuff took WAY more effort to sort through the pieces.
