Very underrated film. I loved the original but this movie was very impressive too. Sylvester Stallone showed wonderful acting. The same with Miranda Richardson, Rachael Leigh Cook, Johnny Strong, Alan Cumming, John C. McGinley and others. "Get Carter" is my personal favorite Stallone movie in decade 2000-2009
Liked the original, but I like the remake for two reasons:
1. Love the director's use of Seattle street scenery, a lot was filmed very close to where I worked back then, notice it is *always* raining when they are outside!
2. I like Stallone taking on projects where pretty much *everyone* is a much better actor than him ... Miranda Richardson, Michael Caine, Alan Cumming, Mickey Rourke -- Stallone isn't afraid to share the screen with some pretty heavy hitters.
@hoopczar Agree generally... Stallone can deliver some powerhouse performances when given the opportunity i.e. Copland and even in this remake (the roof scene with Rachel Leigh Cook was pretty emotional stuff).
wtf who made this need a slap u can not remake the (1971 get carter) coz of where it was made gatshead and newcastle in the uk and btw who hell wont's 2 see a film with stallone how can not act 2 save his life and this will have killed the get carter from 1971 god dam it i h8 Americans making gd fill in 2 film i would much rather with out my eyes 2 see :D
Casting Stallone in this remake was the same as putting Bernard Manning in Total Recall as Quaid. Absolutely stupid. But then...hey...that's the Americans for you!
@bluebus270 That's the Americans for you! Making excellent films all the time but the moment a stinker drops everyone's like "That's the Americans for you" Durp da dur.
I have a CD ( Billon Dollar Caine) that has about 8 different versions of the same tune, with the last one very up tempo and full of Cockney Rap, it's brilliant. With this tune it has to be a bit different as it's a different film version.
Stallone is in this film very good, I love this music and the film soundtracks are good

I prefer the slower tempo of the original. It has a more haunting tone and stays with you for ages. this sounds a bit too rushed.
