Two parties is a function of the presidential system. You can only break them by going to a parliamentary system, which would require changing the constitution in ways that probably aren't going to happen. But I'd be all for it, particularly at the level of the states. It's more democratic.
Hey Jesse, When was the last time you treated at a VA clinic or hospital? THEY SUCK!!!! They have butchered and killed MANY of my buddies and family members. They would have been MUCH better off had they just toughed out their illnesses, wounds and diseases. It's that touch of socialism in you Jesse from being raised in Minnesota that you can't escape.
Never going to happen? This country is sooo young compared to most of the world, and there have been fairly radical changes here + a civil war over the last 200 years.
I was going to pass on voting today considering that there are no good, viable third parties. However, I went out and voted almost all Republican.....I want to contribute to the crumbling of this defunct system and voting Republican seems to be the quickest way to do it.
@iqknowles, that would work, but much more slowly. I voted Republican because they are more brazen about being completely self-serving and totally blind to the national interests.
Either way, all that needs to happen is the U.S. government's inability to field as many warships and soldiers as it currently can...namely in east asia.
Once the U.S. 7th feet leaves, Japan will become a nuclear power, as will South Korea. Virtually every political scientist agress this will be disastrous.
I went to school with Connie! The only reason he is in office is because of his name! Connie Mack the 10th!!!! he sucked at baseball and did not make the team...his Grandfather must be so proud LOL!!!
why does this guy get any play on any issue..he cant carry a train of thought on any issue..this guy is an idiot..where was the tea party when? Its here now stupid..
@tilthage Are you sure you know Chavez or what actually happens in Venezula? And if Chavez is so bad... why does the US continue to buy his oil? Aren't we in turn supporting this socialist dictator? Jesse is a statesmen, an ex war vet (navy seal) and a patriot. I'd vote for this guy in a heartbeat over any DEM or REPUB.
God D*mn Ventura, you've shot yourself and all of us in the foot.
The Tea Parties were started in 2007 by the Ron Paul Campaign. The war, spending, and the Patriot Act were part of what was protested. The movement has been hijacked or is trying to be hijacked and co-opted by the fake Libertarians like Glenn Beck.
Just like the antiwar movement was hijacked by MoveOn.org, Americans United for Change, USAction, and other so-called liberal organizations. They discredited it as a left wing movement.
The polarization of the two parties IS THE DOWNFALL OF THIS COUNTRY! Jesse Ventura spews a bunch of nonsense sometimes but he is dead on here! Anyone what he said is false look it up! Habeas Corpus is a joke in this country. Has anyone read the patriot act? Prove him wrong then talk shit! As soon as people pull their heads out of their politics we will all be WAY better off. Stop watch Faux News, stop reading the HuffingtonPost, make up your own mind. BAA BAA follow the talking heads SHEEP!
@dance20034 When did Ventura ever state he supported Obama care? & The TEA party deserves bashing, there complaining about the government violating the constitution & about government spending but were nowhere to be seen during W's reign.
@Fuctmentality I have to disagree with you somewhat here. There was always a large antiwar crowd during Ws years. The financial crisis and the bailouts didn't happen until towards the end of Ws reign which is when the tea party movement began. Obamas massive bailouts, government take overs and the continuation of Ws policies is why the movement continues to grow.
@JuicersSuck What government takeovers? what the GM stock & replacing the CEO then putting the GM stock up for sale, shit it's better than losing GM & better than a straight bailout. & Once again same people who supported the numerous violations of the constitution, & the largely privatized wars, take to the streets & start complaining after steps are taken to prevent economic collapse? They deserve ridicule, they only care about their ideology, not about the country.
@blackisbeautiful09 That's because W didn't start the outrageous spending until the last few months of his last term. Obama tripled down on W's dumb mistake.
@blackisbeautiful09 Actually, that was when the "lame duck" portion of his presidency started, so you can blame that spending on Pelosi, but whatever.
@iqknowles No Bush had a part in it to. Bush should have been vetoeing his ass off if he did not agree. That is what the veto is for. Congress holds most of the blame and that includes Dems and R's. What is hilarious is that Mitch McConnell and John Boehner and the rest of their buddies complaining about the spending & economy and what ever but they were in Congress when the R's had control the last time and when the Dems had control recently.
@onepiecefan74 If you are a teabagger then you're supporting the SAME party that supported & aided in every one of his many violations of the constitution & turned the tax surplus into a record deficiet. The party has not changed it's policies. You expect me to believe that you actually are against the things that you are clearly supporting? & at 15 you were old enough to think, but you didn't & you still don't.
@Fuctmentality never said I was a tea partyer. I'm radical rothbarian libertarian. I don't support parties I support individuals. in government right now I like the 2 Paul's and Dennis Kucinich and that's about it.
@onepiecefan74 I was 15 when bush left office and I didn't fully understand what he left us with but I do now and according to u and Jesse I'm not allowed to wake up since I wasn't 10 years ago. and I like Jesse allot but he doesn't relies the original tea party started in 2007 and supported Ron Paul. it has since been hijacked .
I am not sure if Jesse ever "directly" stated he supported Obamacare but he has through insinuation. I remember a couple of different interviews on here where he was using Hawaii's state run healthcare as an example of why we should have it nationally. As for the Tea Party? Some are principled people like Rand Paul and Mike Lee who voted NOT to reauthorize the Patriot Act and then you have fake Neocon Tea Partiers like Michele Bachman and Rubio who support it.
@rmccay88 Supporting NHC is not the same a supporting "Obama-care" (in the 90's that plan was called Republicare). & Rand Paul, still supports the ol' cut taxes & increase spending plan every other Republican does.
I don't know, I am fairly certain he supports it the little I have heard Jesse talk about it. In a interview with TYT he even says America should have a good balanced blend of socialism and capitalism (which we have had since 1913) As for taxes? If a person believes in equality in all parts on individualism and not collectivism, than one should support taxes being the same for everybody with no tax loopholes. I do wish however, Rand would not support these bogus wars.
@rmccay88 Unless he specifically gave support to "Obama-care" you can't say he supports it, every rational individual supports a mixed economy. Flat taxation makes more sense from a collectivist standpoint than from an individualist one but I don't see why you mention it.
I'll try to find the two interviews where he said it; it was clear to anyone who has a thought process who watched it would conclude he supported it. Well we have a mixed economy now and we have tyranny. You can't have a central bank in a country and have freedom for the people economically. What we have here now is banking cartels and the super rich completely controlling our puppet politicians to do whatever it is they want accomplished and damn you and me. They want a NWO.
@rmccay88 Just remember supporting UHC in general dose not men one supports any particular plan for UHC. You have an odd definition of the word tyranny. & from the rant against banking cartels & central banks it appears to me you're the one who wants a new world order.
I would say you have a odd definition of freedom. And you called my bluff, how did you know? I am Bernanke's personal sock puppet attempting to help the elites all I can!
@Fuctmentality You deserve bashing for your illogic. Obama's RIDICULOUS TRILLIONS OF SPENDING & THE THREAT OF OBAMA-CARE triggered the invention of the TEA PARTY. What the hell should they do? Ask Obama to invest in the invention of a TIME MACHINE so they can go back in time so the TEA PARTY can be invented during Bush's presidency? Are you serious? Time follows a TIME-LINE, you dork. Would you not be bashing the Tea Party if it was invented by the same people during Bush? I doubt it, you phoney
@CHEwasGAY Thank you for admitting the tea party were nowhere to be found when Bush was costing us trillions, destroying our civil liberties & pretty much throwing rule of law out the window. Why you think pointing those facts out are illogical, when you yourself agree is puzzling. To answer what they should do, stop pretending they care about the Constitution or Gov spending because as you agree they would have been demonstrating under Bush & I wouldn't be criticizing as you stated.
@CHEwasGAY I'm not a member of the Democratic party. I think stimulus was & is necessary, & Eisenhower is probably the greatest president in history though he did start COINTELPRO.
@Fuctmentality yes this is troubling. The original tea party actually was formed during W's term, but it didn't take full swing till after he left. Waste of an opportunity imo.
There are several political parties in the United States, Mr. King. Unfortunately, the voting system in the USA is rigged to benefit the Republican and Democratic parties only, as these two are the only two parties that do not need signatures to go on the ballot.
Coincidence that these two parties also cater to corporations? NO!
I have nothing against Mr. Ventura, but I feel he has gotten to far up Conspiracy Alley. I like some of the things he says, but some other things get to conspiracy-ish.
@EricBoisen Are you so saying that there is no such thing as conspiracy? Everything is a conspiracy. The government and corporate have programmed you to believe conspiracy is a dirty word.
@holio84 I have nothing against questioning what people or the government says. But there is a line between basing it around facts and basing it around hypothesis. I feel the conspiracy nowadays are based to much around hypothesis.
On March 23, 2010 the health care bill was approved. On March 24, 2010 I got a notice my supplemental bill was going up from $320 to$376 / month. It had to be mailed days ago. This is not Obamas bill, it is the insurance companys bill and Obama has been duped. So if anything goes Wong, it will be blamed on Obama. The President and the American people have been duped.
Obama was not duped ....you did not really think the insurance companies were going to be hurt by this bill did you? congress...both sides were well aware of who would profit from this...follow the money
@treez78 The tea party believes in the same economic principles of the neocons: free markets cure all, deregulate, only tax cuts can stimulate the economy, etc. It's the truth.
Ventura you represent NO ONE! All you do is bitch about eveything America has strived for! You are a truther and you support Islamic Jihad! You question why we defend our freedom from islamic terrorists! You are a FRAUD!
@smowkdaddy you are right. the tea party is not a joke. it is a very serious problem this country has. they are gaining power and they are ignorant. terrible combination
ive been saying this 4 long time...the political system is what hurts us...look it up the founding fathers said we have given you a republic its your job to keep it from becoming a democracry wich is really a two party dictatorship or ollagarchy ..wke up america dont alow us to end up like germany
I agree with him about the two parties, but his comments on the Tea Party are an erroneous summation. Then he talks about the HI, health care plan and how great it is.... he is talking out of both sides of his mouth and can't seem to decide if he supports a smaller, less intrusive government, or big, nanny government.
Can't I buy his rhetoric any better than I can put my faith in our deteriorated and corrupt, congress.
Ventura for President !. He's absolutely correct we have a 2 party duopoly and that's a large, large part of the problem. The Rethugs won't help the Dems, the Dems won't help the Rethugs so down the drain we go
You guys are about to witness the fall of USA into third world conditions - possible killing field scenario - just with a new twist - TX IRS and Pentagon shooter are false flag attacks to get the american people against the tea party and 9/11 truth movements - problem reaction solution - so now the govt takes away the citizens rights to bear arms and imposes martial law to provide security and the people are happy - go figure - next worshipping God will be outlawed -
Jesse is right about our current government. However, don't blame the American people, the majority of which had been asleep, it took a left liberal communist like Obama to make them aware of the reality of losing their freedoms into them. Bush was no prize but, Obama is pure evil.
is it weird that one of my favorite wrestlers has become my favorite politician? though i think the body has said he will not be running for any kind of office anytime soon...
The Tea Parties are nothing but a joke and a place were racist white people can go and gather. They are nothing but the new Klu Klux Klan but without the white hoods. Lead by their crazy-ass king Glenn Beck and the Alaskan dumb-ass queen Sarah Palin. All they do is play on peoples fears and and make people believe in lies!!! Death to the Tea Party
Agreed, imagine Hawaii has health care and Limpass Limbaugh got treatment there talk about the hypocrisy of that. The big "tea bag" takes socialized medicine to get better. Ventura in the white house
@ehtx1 i know blacks that support the tea party, you got no proof of anything, you just resort to cheap bullshit accusations with no substance, grow up
@kennykensworth Just because some black people support something doesn't mean that it isn't racist. Some black people in this country are just plain pitiful. Self-hatred is truly disgusting. But then, you know all about that, don't you kenny?
blacks support the teabaggers my ass, those are some pitiful house negroes, on the upper end of the society...having no touch with the institutional bias that minorities have to face every day
@sayanroy36 Did you ever think that it's your shitty attitude, not your skin color, that causes you to experience bias? I was in the Army for ten years, and experienced "institutional bias" directed at me due to the fact that I am not a minority; unlike you, however, I can quantify my experience--I had significantly higher scores than the minorities who were selected ahead of me. I knew it was wrong, but I also knew that it served no purpose to bellyache about it.
@ehtx1: you're a fuckin idiot, you've fallen for the same propaganda just from the other side.
You CLEARLY don't research anything before you write your bullshit. The Tea Party movement was started by ROn Paul, Palin & Beck are hooking themselves to it to try to save her career.
There aren't racists there, I've been to many of them, as well as Dem and Rep gathering, THOSE 2 have racists there, not the tea parties,
Plenty of minorities attend Tea Parties, get your head out of your ass.
@shadyzz954 Thanks for keeping the truth alive. Ron Paul started the Tea Party and hopefully will regain it. If people believe anything Palin or Beck say they're setting themselves up for true doom.
@ehtx1 you're a moron. The tea party is not about race, but about reinstating fiscal responsibility. So, unless you're arguing that minorities inherently want our government to bankrupt our country (itself a racist position, since it assumes that minorities aren't smarter enough to do basic math), I would suggest you get a brain.
Ventura's always right. Well, some of his conspiracy theories can be a bit off IMO, but he understands politics like no other man. Tea Partyers are nothing more than bored racists, or people who are misled by bored racists. They believe political rationality lies within the realm of their own gut.
so much true

There are several political parties in the United States, Mr. King. Unfortunately, the voting system in the USA is rigged to benefit the Republican and Democratic parties only, as these two are the only two parties that do not need signatures to go on the ballot.
Coincidence that these two parties also cater to corporations? NO!

@Blockygraphics So this implies that you are in favor of the current bill? The current bill is not socialism but very much like what Hawaii has.

I have nothing against Mr. Ventura, but I feel he has gotten to far up Conspiracy Alley. I like some of the things he says, but some other things get to conspiracy-ish.
EricBoisen 1 year ago
@EricBoisen Are you so saying that there is no such thing as conspiracy? Everything is a conspiracy. The government and corporate have programmed you to believe conspiracy is a dirty word.
holio84 1 year ago
@holio84 I have nothing against questioning what people or the government says. But there is a line between basing it around facts and basing it around hypothesis. I feel the conspiracy nowadays are based to much around hypothesis.

On March 23, 2010 the health care bill was approved. On March 24, 2010 I got a notice my supplemental bill was going up from $320 to$376 / month. It had to be mailed days ago. This is not Obamas bill, it is the insurance companys bill and Obama has been duped. So if anything goes Wong, it will be blamed on Obama. The President and the American people have been duped.
StigmataBOB1 1 year ago
Obama was not duped ....you did not really think the insurance companies were going to be hurt by this bill did you? congress...both sides were well aware of who would profit from this...follow the money

@treez78 The tea party believes in the same economic principles of the neocons: free markets cure all, deregulate, only tax cuts can stimulate the economy, etc. It's the truth.

Ventura you represent NO ONE! All you do is bitch about eveything America has strived for! You are a truther and you support Islamic Jihad! You question why we defend our freedom from islamic terrorists! You are a FRAUD!

So you're saying you disagree with what George Washing, Thomas Jefferson, and John Adams said? Address the point he was making.

ive been saying this 4 long time...the political system is what hurts us...look it up the founding fathers said we have given you a republic its your job to keep it from becoming a democracry wich is really a two party dictatorship or ollagarchy ..wke up america dont alow us to end up like germany
arlichar11 2 years ago

He's wrong, the US is already a third rate, third world slum. The end time prophet is among us!
candyhotpocket 2 years ago

Long live the Tea Parties.

@ehtx1 i know blacks that support the tea party, you got no proof of anything, you just resort to cheap bullshit accusations with no substance, grow up
kennykensworth 1 year ago
@kennykensworth Just because some black people support something doesn't mean that it isn't racist. Some black people in this country are just plain pitiful. Self-hatred is truly disgusting. But then, you know all about that, don't you kenny?
jerrod24 1 year ago
@jerrod24
blacks support the teabaggers my ass, those are some pitiful house negroes, on the upper end of the society...having no touch with the institutional bias that minorities have to face every day
sayanroy36 1 year ago
@sayanroy36 Did you ever think that it's your shitty attitude, not your skin color, that causes you to experience bias? I was in the Army for ten years, and experienced "institutional bias" directed at me due to the fact that I am not a minority; unlike you, however, I can quantify my experience--I had significantly higher scores than the minorities who were selected ahead of me. I knew it was wrong, but I also knew that it served no purpose to bellyache about it.
iqknowles 1 year ago
@jerrod24 Yeah, I know, and they overwhelmingly vote for the party of slavery, Jim Crow, and segregation.
iqknowles 1 year ago
@ehtx1: you're a fuckin idiot, you've fallen for the same propaganda just from the other side.
You CLEARLY don't research anything before you write your bullshit. The Tea Party movement was started by ROn Paul, Palin & Beck are hooking themselves to it to try to save her career.
There aren't racists there, I've been to many of them, as well as Dem and Rep gathering, THOSE 2 have racists there, not the tea parties,
Plenty of minorities attend Tea Parties, get your head out of your ass.
shadyzz954 1 year ago
@shadyzz954 Thanks for keeping the truth alive. Ron Paul started the Tea Party and hopefully will regain it. If people believe anything Palin or Beck say they're setting themselves up for true doom.

@ehtx1 you're a moron. The tea party is not about race, but about reinstating fiscal responsibility. So, unless you're arguing that minorities inherently want our government to bankrupt our country (itself a racist position, since it assumes that minorities aren't smarter enough to do basic math), I would suggest you get a brain.
iqknowles 1 year ago
@iqknowles Its not about fiscal responsibility...... You my mislead friend are the moron

CHEwasGAY 11 months ago
Ventura's always right. Well, some of his conspiracy theories can be a bit off IMO, but he understands politics like no other man. Tea Partyers are nothing more than bored racists, or people who are misled by bored racists. They believe political rationality lies within the realm of their own gut.
Our two party system is destroying this country.
