Sly, if you kill the Eye of Cthulhu, you can then get a druid to join in with you, and from her, you can buy the purification powder, which is much more value for money than dynamite, to tackle the ebonstone. since you can buy purification powder from the druid for only 75 copper, whilst dynamite is 50 silver, it's alot cheaper for around the same effect :) just a pro tip ;)

Sly, here's a pro tip. You can already fight the Eye of Cthulhu, if you make the Ironskin potion.

Although, you might need a ranged weapon, like maybe an Enchanted Boomerang or something like that. I did it after i had played for around the same amount of time as you... i even think that because i played so fast, i had already killed the Eater of World... just sayin'.

But yeah, you should totally start killing bosses, while using the ironskin buff.
