Liverpool deserves better than them two idiots hicks and gillette.. whichever of the 2 possible buyers takes over im sure it will do our club wonders in terms of the morale of the players and the fans and ofc the manager, as long as the new buyers are enthusiastic and really beleive in the clubs potential to be back up there at the top of the table then i dont see why we cant be.. I know money is a big part of football these days but its not everything.. Lets see the reds play strong and proud!

I go back to the days of Houillier and then Rafa - who both bought the worst set of LFC players we have ever had. Rafa only bought 3 good players out of the 30 or so he signed. Then he let the better ones go and kept the dross! The worse thing Hicks and Gillette did was trust Rafa with 150 million. It'll take 18 months to turn us around !

@UFCritical - Its nothing about being ABLE to play football, that which football clubs are owned by Brits, it concerns being able to expertly administer a global product. The real mess at Liverpool can be dated back to the 80s when previous owners/chairman failed to turn the teams success into revenue & profit. Pains me to say but look at the financial success of Man scum U did in the 90s, they did what we didn’t do.

@UFCritical As opposed to David Moores that mismanaged the club for 25 years meaning it went into £60 million of debt and they were desperate to sell- hence Gillete/Hicks. The Americans can do much worse - under Moores atl least we had 20 years of success!

@UFCritical Not quite, under John Smith we had 20 years of success, Moores took over in 91, when the success was coming to an end, other clubs foresaw bigger capacities, facilities, more boxes, etc would be needed, Moores decided that after 20 years of success, cramming a few more seats into Anfield was the answer.

So today Liverpool generate £45m from match day revenues, whilst Man Utd & Arsenal generate over £100m, which is why Liverpool have so few top draw players in comparison.
