Van Halen ain't jack fucking shit without Michael Anthony man. I think everyone took him for granted and never realized how HUGE a piece he was to the classic Van Halen sound. The guy had one of the heaviest, pounding bass sounds every laid down. Fucking Wolfgang is a HUGE piece as well, but not for the music, just the size of that pork-rind eating pig.
Screw "Jump" and "Panama". "Unchained" is the #1 VH song of all time! It's where it's at! Too bad it wasn't longer than 3:45, but it still rocks hard! Also, they need to play some songs they didn't play on the 2007-08 tour. "Women in Love", is a good one. "Fools" is another one. "Take Your Whiskey Home" would be nice to hear. And of course, all the other great VH songs they haven't played in ages.

I have to say, that this might very well be VH in their prime! Back in the 70's/80's they were usually drunk and fucked up. Ed is playing better than I have ever heard him (at the '04 show in Boise, he was a wreck that couldnt even play). As much as I think that Sammy is the better singer, vocally, DLR is the better fit in the band and his lyrics blow away Sams. cant wait to see 'em!!!

Wolfie is doing pretty damn good. But, Mike was who helped stamp the VH sound with his bass riffs and backups. Hey, it's family with Eddie and his son up there and in the studio, that's really cool. But on the other hand, I do respect and miss Mike and what he did for the the band. Things change and time moves on.
@colinsulby I hated when they played "Unchained" in Vegas. Dave showed Wolf Santa in the audience, as it was shortly after Xmas. Wolf flubbed the line, saying "Gimme...gimme a break Dave.", and it sounded rehearsed. This performance in L.A. sounded better. He seemed genuinely frustrated when he said "Dave...Can you gimme a break?"

I saw VH on their first tour June 1979 in Kalamazoo Mich-Unbelievable. Then saw them again April 1980 at a sold out Joe Lewis arena UNBELIEVABLE! It was so GREAT to see Diamond Dave again (2008). Not the same ol Diamond Dave, but still brought back SOOOO many memories. So many fans at the Florida shows (2008) were old time rockers, the shows were sold out, and the place(s) just ROCKED. Thank you VH, for the memories!
Favorite VH pieces include this one, And the Cradle Will Rock, and Cathedral, which has an ethereal quality which is absolutely beautiful. Never been to one of their shows, but I would like to, if the touring continues. Not sure what their plans are, but hope they continue to get out there.

This is good!!! Some of the footage from this tour kinda sucks, but this Rocks! They are currently in the studio with Dave and I can't wait to hear em. Wolfie is doing pretty damn good. But, Mike was who helped stamp the VH sound with his bass riffs and backups. Hey, it's family with Eddie and his son up there and in the studio, that's really cool. But on the other hand, I do respect and miss Mike and what he did for the the band. Things change and time moves on.

@colinsulby I hated when they played "Unchained" in Vegas. Dave showed Wolf Santa in the audience, as it was shortly after Xmas. Wolf flubbed the line, saying "Gimme...gimme a break Dave.", and it sounded rehearsed. This performance in L.A. sounded better. He seemed genuinely frustrated when he said "Dave...Can you gimme a break?"

I saw VH on their first tour June 1979 in Kalamazoo Mich-Unbelievable. Then saw them again April 1980 at a sold out Joe Lewis arena UNBELIEVABLE! It was so GREAT to see Diamond Dave again (2008). Not the same ol Diamond Dave, but still brought back SOOOO many memories. So many fans at the Florida shows (2008) were old time rockers, the shows were sold out, and the place(s) just ROCKED. Thank you VH, for the memories!

Favorite VH pieces include this one, And the Cradle Will Rock, and Cathedral, which has an ethereal quality which is absolutely beautiful. Never been to one of their shows, but I would like to, if the touring continues. Not sure what their plans are, but hope they continue to get out there.

This is good!!! Some of the footage from this tour kinda sucks, but this Rocks! They are currently in the studio with Dave and I can't wait to hear em. My sister saw em in 07 in Reno, all I got was a shirt, lol, hope to catch next tour and hope Dave works hard at his vocals, he needs to concentrate his efforts on VH and drop the paramedic kick. One of the best Rock bands of all time, WITH DAVE!!!
