To me, DC Cooper-era Royal Hunt is my #1 band. They captured that sound where if that 80s hard rock sound was still nurtured instead of passed over for alternative, it would have sounded just like the material on live '96. Also, I was too young to enjoy the 80s and too non-apathetic to enjoy grunge. This band fills that HUGE void that I've been looking to fill for years. That's why this album has gotten at least 500 spins since I first discovered it. A close 2nd is Allen/Lande's "The Battle".

André Andersen is a great musician and made Royal Hunt a great band , but D.C. Cooper was the one who made the difference, the best singer the band ever has had... What a voice!

@tammysyl I agree 100%. This line up would rival any hard rock band at their multi-platinum peak in the 80s and then some. The fact that this was in 1996 makes me like them even more, because they filled a void left by maybe 20+ bands who fell by the wayside in the early 90s.
