After Brenda Ann Spencer opened fire on Cleveland Elementary School on January 29, 1979, killing 2 and injuring 9 others.... her explanation for her actions was "I don't like Mondays; this livens up the day," which inspired the song "I Don't Like Mondays" by The Boomtown Rats.
