why don't you compare wifi, everything you did was related to the harddrive only, which in turn can be directly related to the 8gb vs 64gb- if the hard drive has more platters it is going to be a faster hard drive. doesn't mean the processing is responsible for the slower speed. post some internet loading comparions please.

Sorry, the iPhone 3GS has different specifications than the iPhone 3G ( 3GS=256MB RAM, ARM Cortex A-8 processor (600Mhz), Power VR - SGX GPU; 3G= 128MB RAM; ARM11 processor (532MHz), Power VR - MBX Lite GPU ), and no, it's not because the phone is running in the background. Also the iPod touch 64GB (3rd generation) has the same specs as the iPhone 3GS, so that's why it's faster than the 3G.
