  • Had a nerdgasm when I saw the Joker card :D

  • Very heart-felt scene, both know they can trust each other.

  • This part gave me the chills when I saw it a couple days ago stoned. I cant wait for the next one

  • @JCordoba1001 - You do realize it came out some time ago?

  • @FSUGuy2012 It seems you missed the part he said he was stoned, that kinda explains everything...

  • liked the begins costume better than the dark knight costume

  • movie fucking sucked. When Bruce returns to Gotham everything falls apart, Batmans defining quote "I'm Batman" is ruined by a terrible attempt at humour with the "nice coat" line, you couldn't see what the fuck was going on in the fighting scenes, and NO ONE DRIVES THE BAT MOBILE BUT BATMAN. The beginning was tight and it felt serious, Bruce being trained in the snowy mountains, his past events, but when he becomes Batman the movie goes down hill.

  • @chuggyman1 Go watch Batman and Robin then.

  • I remember getting chills in the theatre when the card was pulled over and it said 'Joker'.

  • Chris Nolans Batman is epic in human form in a bat suit

  • i wonder if there's a video that was recorded in the theater so that you could hear people's reactions.

  • @BrawlerKen987 thats illegal

  • holy shit this movie was incredible. the first movie to really get inside batmans head and give us a sense of realism and attachment.

    and it was also badass.

  • You knew When hé turned the Card, That TDK was gonna be even greater

  • In Batman Begins, Gordon says "I never said thank you" and Batman replies "And you'll never have to."

In TDK, Gordon says "thank you" after Batman saves his son, and Batman replies "You don't have to thank me."

Nolan's put in some interesting parallelism. I wonder how TDKR will incorporate this

  • @popencerushad Thank you for noticing, I am intrigued now how the relationship between Gordon and Batman will be. Considering that Nolan dissolved the relationship between the two, with Gordon chasing after Batman. Instead of them being companions.

  • @alexman378 u r totally right. thats what killed batman 1989 and batman returns.

  • I was really glad the Joker wasn't on the first one. The archenemies must come out at least on the second movies. Like the recent Sherlock Holmes. Because it's really predictable they will be on the first, so you get chills when you see a hint of him and wait to make his move on the next part.

  • @alexman378 Good point, save the best for second. The conclusion for last. Such as, in LOTR: TT Saruon the White isnt until the end scenes. Or SW: Ep. 5 Darth Vader revealing to Luke.

  • whoever those 9 dislikers are, ill look into you

  • I got chills when i saw the joker card

  • 9 People are needy and have to be thanked

  • Good ending!..

  • I yelled fuck yea when i saw the joker card in theaters.

  • @Se7enBeatleofDoom The only part of what you wrote that I can see happening is the part with the Flying Graysons. It may not happen that way though. It may be one of those little ads that you see in the background or a slight mention of them.

  • Gordon: I never said thank you

    Batman:...And you'll never have to

Gordon: Alright, fine, I never will

    Batman: ಠ_ಠ

  • I was about to cry when the movie finished, you know that feeling of:"FINALLY someone has done this shit properly!"

  • Next on the adventurs of Batman

    The Dark Knight

    and later

    The Dark Knight Rises

  • 9 people have my permission to die

  • "and you'll never have to" gives me chills

  • "And you'll never have to." <=== THIS is the line that established the Batman/Gordon mythos, not the playing card showing The Joker. The real relationship is between Batman/Wayne and Gordon and this movie NAILS IT!

  • This ending was so perfect! I'm also SOOO glad that they made the joker the way he was with the messed up make up & scares and not some ridiculous clown acting like a funny joke.

  • good evening ladies and gentlemen! :D

  • Harvey Dent...can we trust him? :)

  • Watch this ending, then watch/read the ending of Batman Year One. this scene + some other parts of the film basically mirror it. lol, i remember when i first saw this movie when i was in the 5th grade, i jumped up when he showed the Joker card

  • the last two lines of this movie is so awe inspiring i mean its a very powerful, it shows how devoted batman is to his personal duty and the idea to the cape in cowl, the music fits perfect with the sense as well. he pretty much says that as long as crime plagues Gotham ill always be here watching, waiting, and protecting. truly a dark knight indeed

  • "i'll look into it"

so casual..yet thats ur ARCH NEMESIS!

    AHHHHHHHH!!!!!

  • "I never said thank you." . . .

    "And you'll never have to . . ."

Epic - a great sense of duty in the Batman's tone, as if he has an obligation of help save his city from corruption. Thumbs up if you think that line is awesome!:)

  • @449944991 I think thats so amazing! batmans like a cop, he knows hes going to help the city out as much as he can.

  • @449944991

I couldn't agree more. The way I read the line 'And you will never have to', is that Batman's efforts aren't conditional but unconditional...... to do what is 'morally' necessary (in contrast with Ra's al Ghul's necessary) to restore the ethics Gotham needs to get back on it's feet. Truly inspiring.

  • Am I the only one staying clear of any TDKR spoilers?

  • @Tayub16 Yes.

  • Batman here was perfect. Short answers. Quick, Direct. Not all that monologue stuff we got in part 2. This ending was TIGHT.

  • @havehope lol. I take it you have never read a single Batman comic. You should do that before you say ignorant things like Batman having too much monologue.

  • @Ajnin42 What works in comics does NOT work in film form. Having a guy dressed up as a Bat giving speeches CANNOT be taken seriously. Just looks VERY odd

  • @havehope Which is why it was done the way it was done in the Dark Knight. Without a man giving speeches. Infact, I dont think I ever read a comic where Batman was giving a speech. Again, please read the comics.

  • do you notice how Batman loses right side grip on his cape as he jumps...

  • *end of movie*

ok, you got rid of some crime bosses, ra's al ghul, scarecrow, zsaz, and got criminals running scared.

    *jim reveals joker card*

    SHIT JUST GOT REAL SON

  • there he goes jumping off of rooftops... again.

  • No offense to the previous directors of Batman movies, but Nolan's films opened a serious can of whoop-ass on all of them. From now on, any future versions, reboots, or interpretations have to live up to Chris Nolan's standards. Warner Bros. even confirmed that after Dark Knight Rises there'll more than likely be a series reboot. And Nolan isn't directing them folks.

  • Comment removed

  • 9 people want Gordon to thank them.

  • I remember when I saw the Joker card in cinema for the first time... I said to my self; A SEQUEL!!!! YEAY!!!!!!

  • who knew Heath?

  • BEST ENDING EVER. CAN'T WAIT FOR DARK KNIGHT RISES.

  • Just like this movie.. Life will come to an end. But God made our soul to live on in either Heaven or Hell... Lets see how you'll do on Judgment day. Ever lied, stolen, hated someone, taken God's name in vain, lusted after a person, gotten drunk, etc? All have sinned and fallen short of God's glory-Rom. 3:23. Our sin deserve's Hell. But God became a man (Jesus Christ) and lived a sinless perfect life and died on the cross under the wrath of God for sin. We need to repent + trust Him

  • @dandan688 ...no offence, but why does this have anything to do with Batman???

  • @dandan688 GTFO

  • WE MEET AGAIN, 240p.

  • I still get major chills when he flips the Joker card over.

  • This is one of the Best Cliffhanger endings of any film I've seen...

Remember being in the cinema when Gordon turned over the Jokers card... the cinema errupted!!!

    Great Ending!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @solo26sky yeahhhh i agree !!! This scene is epic !!! Best cliffhanger of all times ;)

  • Batman gote one epic voice !

  • Batman is Chuck Norris in a costume!

  • I orgasimed when I saw it was a Joker Card XD Best ending ever because it's the awesome beginning of The Joker!

  • @theslytherinchick

Nolan actually didn't want the Joker in his movies, however Warner Bros wanted the Joker card at the end of this movie just in case it didn't make much money at the box office to produce a sequel. Then Batman Begins would just look like a prequel to 1989's Batman were Jack Nicholson was the Joker. It was a clever ploy by WB for sure.

  • @kpernod30 That doesn´t much sence, since in Batman 89 Jack Napier wasn´t not the joker since the begining

of the film he transform during the film, but if it is true what you say that would been really inacurate.

  • Great ending. I remember seeing this in theaters. After the card was turned over, phrases like "Oh yes." "Sweet!" & F**ken eh!" filled the theater. A simple but perfect act to set the stage for the epic sequel.

  • @TheADzioba

I wasn't muttering those phrases. I was stunned by the awesomeness that I witnessed. But no matter how good this movie is, it did not prepare me for the Dark Knight.

  • 0:57 joooooookeeeeeeeeeeeer

  • you never disappoint me tim burton

  • Jack Nicholson made the perfect Joker: a assassin, funny and crazy clown.

  • So far this has been an epic series, too bad theres gonna be a shitty re boot after the next movie, probably some commercialized piece of shit just like the recent reboot of spiderman. In the world we live in now theyll probably get justin bieber to play the next batman.

  • @PMChampagne8 well if they keep going with the series chances are it might go stale and people get sick of it and get crappy either you die as triology or your see yourself become batman and robin

  • @izzy007ism True, but I honestly don't think that would happen with this series. I'm not saying they need to drag it on for a century without making a reboot, but atleast on a rare occassion where they put together a good cast and most importantly someone who can play batman well, I wish they would utilize what they have whithin the story of batman, like for example, i'd like to see bale go up against poison ivy or penguin.....

  • @PMChampagne8 posion ivy won't fit in those movies these movies are closer to reality they could have done a chemical joker but they didn't they went with a guy wearing make up who liked to create chaos poision ivy they can't do but penquin they can do it in my opnion explain his deformity but with poision ivy her controlling huge plants seems a bit odd in the nolan verse i prefer they did hugo strange, Riddler, mad hatter characters that you can relate by psyocholgy

  • @izzy007ism yes what you say is true, however do you understand what I was saying about them ending a series way to soon when they have so much material to use that ends up being wasted? Also it is possible they could modify Poison Ivy, they have done it already in this series with two-face. In this series his face was blown off basically. In the original ,a suspect splashed acid on his face in a courtroom during a hearing.

  • @PMChampagne8 i see your point about them ending the series too soon but at the same time nobody is perfect they could mess up somewhere along that and i would hate seeing them messing up since im a nolan fan and they have portrayed a young batman and his character hasn't evolved much i do agree its kinda soon its harder to top every movie if the dark knight rises ends up being better than the dark knight the pressure will go up and they would top that which will get harder for them

  • @PMChampagne8 hmm do you think two more movies would be enough? I would go for two more movies after the dark knight rises

  • @izzy007ism ya 2 more videos would be just enough. I probably wouldnt go with anymore than that

  • @izzy007ism We havent even seen half of the potential "batman villains" come into play yet, there still room for so much more that they are leaving out and its already gonna get a reboot, probably to just see the same villains only with someone different playing batman. It's lame.

  • @PMChampagne8 we'll see with the reboot who knws we might get someone whoes creative as Nolan and maybe do a total comic style movie but i hear Nolan will be part of it he'll be with the team so we'll see

  • Just like Frank Miller's Batman Year One.

  • who else got goosebumps when he turned the card over?

  • @thedarkness16 Every fucking time

  • @thedarkness16 My god yeah

  • @thedarkness16 -- me! I saw the other side of that card and went "YES!"

  • @thedarkness16 Me, among many others. Once someone told me introducing Joker this way was too evident. What? No-one knew at that time he's gonna be presented like this.

  • you and I were in this together....and then you were gone...and now there's evil...rising...the Batman must comeback...

What if he doesn't exist anymore...

    He must...he must...

  • when we saw this joker card, it was so epic and then Nolan didnt disapoint! cant wait to see what Nolan has in store for us

  • What's that, Keaton and Burton? I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how EPIC Bale and Nolan are!

  • @MrImastinker AMEN.

  • BEST FUCKIN ENDING 2 A MOVIE!!!!!!

  • @EdwardNygma101

disagree. the dark knight ending was much more epic

  • after he flipped that card this became my favorite batman story told of all time and yes i'm including the comic books too.

  • "Hope on the streets". We are the 99%

  • Bale's batman voice in this film is... Odd

  • i think joker was one of the freed arkham inmates.

  • Everyone who owns an iphone or computer: I never said thank you....

Steve Jobs: and you'll never have to!

  • 9 people said thank you.

  • 1:01 RIP Heath Ledger....

  • due to the very aweomse billion things to think of teaser for the dark knight rises, if batman would of said and/or gordon, 'we are in this together ya know?' more of a gordon line just out of no where and Nolan would of used that, well he did but..ah screw it you know what i mean

  • The joker cHRIS NOlan set this all up ididnt notice until ijust wachted this

  • I became an immediate fangirl when he flipped that card over.

  • Comment removed

  • One of the best movie endings current :P A+++++!

  • I love how he shows him the Joker card that to me is just epic.

  • who thought Gordon looked like he was trying to um..... go in for a kiss at 0:43

  • lol trues story NOT fake Christopher Nolan pointed at meh for DKR shooting

  • They had NOOO idea how Real Shit was about to get.

  • batman fan : i never saw 'batman and robin'

nolan: and u 'll never have to

  • @karthi91ful lol

  • @karthi91ful I wish. The thing is I really wanna see Robin again in an actually good high-budget live-action Batman movie.

  • @karthi91ful ha ha brilliant.

  • @karthi91ful best comment i read all day lmao. thank you for that

  • @karthi91ful Best line EVER!

  • this has to be honestly one of the best if not the best ending to a movie ever i cant think of another movie ending that better than this ending and when Bman turned that card over and i saw joker on it i about shitted myself lol i was like FUCK YES the joker bring it on!!!!!

  • @BreakWatcher

died he does what he does cause its right and hes not looking for thanks bc he doesnt do it for thanks hes being a true hero and actually being more than a hero by not accepting thanks cause again hes not wanting ppl to praise him and thanking for cleaning up the city he does it cause he knows its the right thing and honarable thing to do thats why he never accepts thanks

  • @BreakWatcher

you could not be anymore wrong bro that is completly not it at all the REAL reason why he doesnt accept thanks or grattitude is bc hes not doing it for thanks hes not looking for ppl to thank him or praise him for doing good deeds and cleaning up a city by himself bc others are so corrupt he has to take matters into his own hands hes doing it bc its right and its what he believes in and he made a promis that no one will have to endure the same pain that he did when his parents

  • Have you noticed how Nolan puts in every movie a little trail that give you an idea of Batmans next enemy. In Batman Begins is this scene. Obviously it was the Joker. But in The Dark Knight, Lucius Fox said to Bruce, when he was showing him the new suit... "It should do fine against cats" In my opinion Nolan maybe tried to tell us about Catwoman.

Who know, maybe they rly fight a lot in TDKR. I sure hope so XD

  • why do ras al ghul's henchmen come riding horses? any specific reason

    ?

  • @karthi91ful they dont

  • @EyeOnTheTV towards the end of the movie(just after wayne manor is burnt ),several cops come on horseback ,including the scarecrow when he gets hit by rachel's taser .

  • @karthi91ful They are riot police.

  • Best fucking ending ever.

  • in the scene where he saves rachel from scarecrow, wat does he use to attract all those bats?

  • @karthi91ful Some type of high pitched sonar device im assuming. since bats are sensitive to sound

  • @karthi91ful Hi-frequency signal i would guess.

  • I bet he was thinking.. probly some nut who wears clown make-up, I'll have him locked up tomorrow morning.. how wrong he was!

  • If Jim Gordan had put a tracker in the card, then batman would have been screwed, we can see how much batman trusts Gordan.

  • @JigsawVIII If Gordon puts a tracker in the card, Batman definitely knows. Dude, he is the GODDAMN BATMAN.

  • @JigsawVIII Why would he do that? After all they've been through, the trust they've gained from each other, and the help they've given as well. Gordon strives his best to clean up the streets, and has the best partner in the world to help him in the form of Batman. Why do something petty like place a tracker to find out the identity of Batman? Sounds like a dick move.

  • @Wxue89 I just said they trust each other, you should learn how to read, and even if he finds out, he's not gonna say anything.

  • @JigsawVIII Yes, I know. I was just explaining why Jim putting a tracker on the card would be something unreasonable for him to do given the circumstances, not trying to prove that your statement was wrong. I think it's you that needs to learn to read.

  • @Wxue89 Seriously, go learn some english, you can't read to be honest. My whole point is that batman trusts Gordan, not what kind a fucking dick move Gordan will pull to get batman's identity.

  • @Wxue89 Learn how to read my conclusion, that's why I said my main sentence at the very end, "We can see how much Batman trusts Gordan." Understand what others are trying to say before you open your fucking mouth.

  • @JigsawVIII Rofl. You're so funny. I SAID i was explaining why Jim wouldn't track Batman. It has nothing to do with your conclusion. Stop trying to read it like I am trying to prove you wrong. -_-

  • @Wxue89 What I'm trying to say is that Batman wouldn't expect any trackers inside the bag, so which means he trusts Gordan, and it doesn't have to be Gordan who put the tracker, it could be any other detective or villain, or maybe Joker himself. You should seriously get your facts right, of course I know it's a dick move, but I'm saying "what if", ok? Anything is possible, you should know that by now.

  • @Wxue89 i'm just trying to tell you why he should know, first off, you said "Why would he do that? After all they've been through, the trust they've gained from each other, and the help they've given as well." well, that's like saying superman should have never peeked through batman's mask, after all they've been through, if gordan knows who batman is, he may know who to trust, and who to contact during the daytime. batman knows goddamn well that gordan wouldn't expose him

  • @Wxue89 and by the way, smart people like gordan don't even need a tracker to find out who batman is, i'm just hypothetically saying why gordan would

  • @Wxue89 And, after all they've been through, what'd you mean by "after all" he's only been the batman for about a month, this is a reboot, not a sequel, and "The Dark Knight" didn't happen yet.

  • I started punching the air excitedly when I first saw this movie and Batman flipped that card over. :D

  • with all these superhero movies starting to come out i have to say that the Batman triliogy is the best; although i think The Avengers series is going to be right up there too

  • IT'S HARD TO BELIEVE THESE TWO ARE LIMEYS.

  • I don't get it. Why does he say, you'll never have too?

  • @HaydenJackson100 because he's doing it selflessly. he does good for gotham but using the wrong methods (taking the law into his own hands). so he cannot accept gratitudes since he does good using bad methods.

  • EPIC!!!!

  • 8 people plus the oscar jury want to see a slumdog millionaire at the end! not a millionaire who gives all his money to fight crime, not a millionare loosing his reputation fighting crime, not a millionaire loosing his love, fighting crime; ...what are you? FC Chelsea-fans? what must happen? i mean, some times people deserve more ... i'm not sure: every millionaire is giving dollars somewhere, for his glory. billionaires today care about real problems? ..enough..no oscar for a beautiful film...

  • If i ever talk to chris nolan, i'm gonna say "i never did thank you for re-creating this awesome franchise" and he'll say "and you'll never have to"

  • @rockyfan94 I heard he rides around on his unicorn

  • "And you'll never have to." - Why I LOVE this clip.

  • @NintendoSpiderMan and hello lawsuits

  • Joker (after seeing the Bat-signal): Wait 'til they get a load of me!

  • Two Face, Ras Al Ghul, scarcrow, The Penguin, Mr Freeze, Bane, Catwomen, and Joker dislikes this

  • "and here...we....go..."

  • 240 p we mmet again!

  • I could picture the ending for Rises, Bruce gets tickets for an event, turns them over and it's for the circus.

  • I actually thought this was really cheesy and such a blatant attempt to get people psyched for Dark Knight.
