I met these guys and even spent some time with Bradley, and they were the nicest group of guys I'd come across. I was young, they were gentlemen and I am so glad I had the chance to meet them. RIP Debusschere, and Bradley...call me! :)
New York Nnicks,Marv Albert,Frazier,Barenett,Bradley,Debusschere, and Reed-Baby Please!!!Those were days my friend-I wish they never ended.I must say though-when the Pearl came to New York-I was one happy camper.
Id say DeBusschere was a great player too along with Reed and Frazier...top 50 and all-around one of the best forwards ever. Top athlete too; was a major league pitcher with the White Sox.
What a prick Knicks owner James Dolan is firing Marv Albert in 2004. I hate that bastard. The Rangers and Knicks have gone downhill since he took over both teams.
I had that wonderful game on the DVR and then it went out and we had to replace it, losing the game. That was my favorite Knick game of all time. "Fire house basketball," the announcer said at one point.
@frsBigEasy: that's an inaccurate statement. The 1970 had two legitimately great players, Willis Reed and Walt Frazier. They also had several players who were always excellent and occasionally great: DeBusschere, Barnett and Bradley.
The 1970 NBA Champion Knicks were the definition of a team. Where they didn't have one player who could consistently dominate but as a team together they could beat anyone. They didn't have one great piece but a lot of good pieces that played very well together.
Listen to Marv Albert, he was calling the Knicks games back then. And listen to him call that shot last night from LaBron James... He's the best sport announcer "Yes, and it Counts"

That's why I'm doubful about Mike D'Antoni, all great Knicks teams have been defensive teams, he doesn't care about it.

What a great year for NY sports teams.Although a Giants-Yanks fan,I was happy for the Knicks-Jets-Mets win.Only my Rangers came up short that year.
