Watched this movie on shrooms, changed my entire worldview. It provokes every emotion imaginable, while introducing you to the horrors of government oversight, and the fallacies of a "perfect" system. This movie destroyed me, and rebuilt me from the bottom up. I love it. I hate it. This movie is dangerous. Everyone should see this at least once in their later teens/early twenties, then study the actual intentions of each and every scene.

@cusheth i have tried both ways & am just one of the few i imagine who get more out of Floyd on the natch (see? Old grandmother using old school slang!) One who took acid in my 20's ; the unadulterated versions - and also had a prescription for medical herb more recently & tossed it out. This bands' music & messages are a far more enjoyable & tolerable high for myself personally, and i expect a LOT will disagree with me! A good headset & 19 cd's keep me as high as i wish to be. To each his own!

My wife and I went to Rodger Water's "The Wall" concert and it is the best concert I've been to in 30 years. The movie clip is good, but see it live if you can.
@Souzanub i used to think that when i was younger, i mean this is really great for people living in depression or an extreme apathy, i used to think that even the music was good/normal but not perfect as everybody says, yes is overrated but it deserves it, even though i doubt that all the people that says this is the best album or things like that really understand the album, i really loved the movie and get excited in some parts or i want to start to cry, but is hard to really understand it
@Souzanub also its hard because the movie has a lack of ''deep'' with the character,so when you see it for the first time you are watching a movie with great animations a good/decent/sometimes boring music,and really fast developing of the story,so you get the generall idea but not the deep meaning of every song, thats why it isnt a great movie,but when youve experienced something similar to the movie you feel the movie,the scenes,the sarcastic waters tone of voice in some songs, hard to explain

I listened to rock for about 10 years now, I respect the classic rock bands and I am interested in the new ones. I hope i'm wrong but I tried to listen to pink floyd, turned on a few songs but it bores me to death. Can anyone recommend some great songs from these guys? don't want to dismiss them just yet.
@arzee91 Pink Floyd's got different kinds of music depending on when they were writing. I like Gilmour's songs quite a bit although a lot of Pink Floyd's real fans don't. Then there's The Wall which is more like Roger Water's style and songwriting and its different from Gilmour's, and the songs before that are different too. Just try a bit of the Wall, a bit of Gilmour's stuff and a bit of the songs from before and see which style you like more.
@arzee91 My fav thing by them is the wall it tells such a deep story with so many undertones to the story. the movie ads even more of a spectacular feel to the songs. but if that dosnt catch your fancy i would check out dark side of the moon another very powerful album. after that i woudl pop in wish you were here for a more modern feel or animals for something a little more obsure.
The transferred video quality in this isn't very good, but still, otherwise excellent compilation and music from great works! Just *have* to give it a thumbs up.

When your sober music is good, but when your high each song is like a journey to another world - worlds sometimes more amazing, terrifying and beautiful than even those portrayed in movies like Avatar. In the case of Pink Floyd's music you literally lose yourself, almost unable to think in a state of pure ecstasy.

Being a fan is not about being sober when listening to their music, its about enjoying it and thats something you can do in both states. @sobeAdam well, I'm kind of in-between. When I'm sober, I appreciate the meaning of the music more, and when I'm high, I enjoy the psychadelic sounds the music has. And of course the creepy-as-fuck cartoons. :)

The Wall is severely overrated. While I agree that it is indeed a good album, Pink Floyd did many others that are worlds ahead of this one.

When your sober music is good, but when your high each song is like a journey to another world - worlds sometimes more amazing, terrifying and beautiful than even those portrayed in movies like Avatar. In the case of Pink Floyd's music you literally lose yourself, almost unable to think in a state of pure ecstasy.

Being a fan is not about being sober when listening to their music, its about enjoying it and thats something you can do in both states.
