I'm sure I'll catch heat for this, but in my opinion, the Firebird has to be one of the worst sounding guitars any of the major builders have ever put on the market. Distorted, it sounds passable in some contexts, I suppose, but that's one of the worst "clean" tones I've ever heard:S Anyone agree??

I strongly disagree! perhaps you have never really sat down and really gave it a try. I own two models myself and I cant get over how easy you can reach the high frets. It also has a really nice multi personality, it can get the twang a tele can and the "fat" sound a les paul can

It's always harder to sell something you don't like. I can see it in your face, Jason. It sounds better WITHOUT the peddle. It's -OK-BARELY OK- when on during some of the soloing but in general, it sounds like scratchy noise. My $20 Danalectro overdrive pedal sounds way better than this BBE and I know your playing is good. Why would you even need a tube screamer type peddle when you're playing such a hot guitar through a superb tube amp already? Just use a volume pedal when U want breakup.

Try using a pick in your thumb and index finger and growing the fingernails out a bit on your middle, ring and pinky fingers. You can use the pick and 3 other fingers at the same time--this is called "hybrid picking". It's my favorite right-hand technique because it gives you 100% of the benefits of using a pick (since you can always use the pick normally if you want) and 80% of the benefits of finger style.

It's a piece of shit too! lol

No intermodulation distortion like a true tube screamer. It's just a basic overdrive with no real character or unique qualities.

The cheap Ibanez TS7 is a much better pedal.

It does everything this pedal doesn't.

Overdrives don't generally alter your amps tone excessively. This simply pushes it harder and adds nothing worth mentioning.

Complete waste of money, caps, resistors etc.

Yeaa its a gibson,,doesnt have to be original u can mode it any way u want if u have a bit know how,i added gibson pickups to my stratocaster,so i have 1 strat pickup and 2 huge gibson,it looks ugly but the sound is unique,so maybe its a personal custom Firebird.looks cool with 3 right?
