This is SO funny! I remember this from when I was a kid in the '70s and I have always referred to "carpooling" as Kalaka! I was talking to my Mom about this yesterday because my brother & I are going to "carpool" out to their house for dinner (they live about 35 minutes away) and she had no idea what I was talking about. I said that I was going to look it up and this came up on Google! What a BLAST from my past! LOVE IT! So I will continue to refer to carpooling as KALAKA!
does anybody have the one where chicken little walks between 2 parked cars? OH WHAT a dumb dumb chicken little....THE SKY IS FALLING... IS FALLING THE SKY...
@jdc1940 You know, Hall & Oates (no relevance intended) sang a '90s song called "THE SKY IS FALLING". I just brought that up. BTW, is the li'l chick okay?
Holy Crap, it does Exist! I always remembered this, but could never find any proof of it's existance on the web. I feared I may have imagined it, but a friend also knew about it. Awesome. A+++ Would view again.
Speaking of feeling alone in remembering an ad - I still hope, though I know I'd regret it in the end, to see the circa-late-80s ad for an alien themed kid's pasta. In it, an alien asks his young human friends, "You Earth people put stars in a bowl?" The alien's voice always bothered me...
@Scansinboy You ain't kiddin, Scansinboy. I pondered about this 4 a long, long time. It came out the year after I was born. Where does the time go? Know whut I mean?
I thought it was Mel Brooks, not Mel Blanc and the PSA was a riff on his and Carl Reiner's "10,000 Year Old Man" routine.

I still say this when people mention carpooling.

Though the audio is out of sync, notice the voice of Noah is done by Mel Blanc of Bugs Bunny fame?
heine71 2 years ago
@heine71 He was also BARNEY of THE FLINSTONES. Who knew?

@heine71 I hate to be a doubting Thomas but I'm not sure that's Mel Blanc doing the voice of Noah.

@heine71 I also share the skepticism, I dont think its Mel Blanc

"When you share a ride with someone, make an animal noise. It's kind of fun." I love this commercial. PSAs rock!

I use this word all the time, and none of my peers seem to remember this commercial. I think they ought to bring it back.
