  • this is similar to the wechselhau right? they seem pretty close from your other video. any differences?

  • @IaMaPh1991 This is a Wechselhau. The name for the bind you form in the Wechselhau is the Hinderbinden; the term comes from Talhoffer 1467 fol. 51r (although that specific plate probably doesn't show a Wechselhau--in that case you start in a low guard).

  • I am definetly learning from your videos. At first I didn't like that they were so short, but once I realized I could just replay it, this format made sense to me.

  • @MrOttmandus I am very glad you're learning from them. I'm sorry they're so short, but they're really just to help my students remember the plays. I would suggest getting my book "The Knightly Art of the Longsword" on Lulu dot com because that will show you how each play is performed in detail.

  • @MrOttmandus Thanks, I like it, too. It offers a great deal of flexibility for dealing with people who like to jump out of contact, then rush back in.
