I have the same HD DVD player, connected to my sony bravia. I've had it for almost three months, and so far no promblems. What version HDMI cable do you have? I think this player supports up to the 1.3 version.
I had the same problem with my HD-DVD add on with my xbox 360. When I play Transformers movie, I get this link lost/link restored during playback. I have this 42inch Philips LCD. Do you think I should get a new shorter HDMI cable? What kind of brand do you recomand? Thanks for reading this question/comment.
@jhous71: Your HD DVD issue isn't really your HDMI cable its the NXE update slowed the response time for your TV and 360 to do the "hand shake " needed to verify a secure connection. Whenever you watch Paramount picture movie you'll have to use component or VGA cables to stop the problem. I have the same problem. I can watch the Matrix Trilogy all day no prob. But I can't watch Transformers for more than 3 minutes without having issues.
@Turbomorph Thanks man. For a minute, I was begining to lose my mind. I do have the MadCatz component to HDMI device that connects to the back my console. It's the only way I can watch Paramount Pictures without interuptions. What discouraging is that once I finish watching some movies, I have to swap back to my original HDMI connections. Hopefully with this upcoming Kinect dashboard update, to resolve this issues. Thanks for your comments. Have a good day.
@jhous71: No Problem. I went and tried out $80 Monster cables just to make sure and they did nothing to help. I'm hoping for the next update to patch it too but it looks like I'll be getting Paramount movies on Blu-Ray if it doesn't. Glad I could help.
@Turbomorph Hey guess what? The new Kinect dashboard update fixed the problem. I was able to watch Transformers without a hitch. What's even better is the audio is top notch as well as the picture clarity. I guess you can save some money buy not buying the Blu-Ray version :-)
@jhous71 : Damn dog you beat me to it. I was gonna tell u the same thing. The bad part is that I went out and purchased Component cables for $30 two weeks ago and lost the receipt. Oh well. I'll take HDMI any day. It would be great if MS would consider making an add on Blu-Ray player. Then I could get rid of my PS3.
@Turbomorph I'm sorry to hear that. Well at least we can watch Paramount Pictures without interuptions. By the way (btw), I'm lovin ESPN on xboxlive. That's all I need. At least I don't have to pay 100 bucks a month on cable. Plus NetFlix got better too. You take care of yourself :-)
