Because it became repetitive and didn't live didn't live up to its potential. Assassin's Creed didn't live up to the months of hype. Ubisoft addressed these issues better in AC2, an altogether improved game.

Agreed. It was a great game...the first three cities. There are only so many times I can go to new city, hit new viewpoints, gather info by A: Beating someone up. B: Stealing letters, or C: Listening in on someone. Then killing the bad guy. By the last time I was playing the game to end the game. Assassin's Creed 2...now that is a game worth playing. The first one..Altair was a boring, albeit awesome character who's shining moment was resisting the piece of Eden. Ezio was..interesting.

hu wtf how do you get instant kill counters? i get them too but not all the time, sometimes he just does this stupid bash in the belly, so how do you get him to do a instant kill counter every time? it just seems to come at random when i do it

Most enemies in the later half of the game have more health, which therefore results in counters simply pushing them away rather than killing them.

This is because Counters always does a set amount of damage, unlike the hidden blade which does instantly kill. If the enemy you are countering has more health than what the counter can dish out (Such as Memory Block 5+ Guards, Templars, and Assassin Target Bodyguards), thats what results in a non-lethal counter.

ah i see, well i cant remember doing counters early on in the game, but that was because that dude in the courtyard explained it to me much later

@Mmac2797 also , i found out that sometimes when you preform a non-lethal counter , you can hit the 'attack' button again , and altair will finish the enemy while they are still dazed from the punch (i found that it works with the short sword). im pretty sure it works , but dont hold me to it.
