How does it compare to the Suhr Riot? (Or to the MI Crunch Box v2/v3?). I'm looking for something with more gain and less harsh-or-muddy than the crunch box.
great demo i have a bugera v22 and i cant get any distortion becuse the chanel is very low gain i put it the gain up all the way and only get a pink floyd crunch what pedal should i get for such a clean vintage amp? i want van halen tight distortion but also some of this shred Vai, Paul gilbert tupe of pedal dosent really matter much cause i use that playing not so oftenmostly looking for van halen 80s type distortion that tight overdrive on a vintage amp i use a ibanez rg 350
oh ok... the thing is I got one but im getting a kinda fuzzy sound. Doesn't sound like this clip at all... and I read that fuzzy sound may be caused by low voltage which is why I was thinking about powering it with 18v
Well it says you can power it with 18v so definitely give it a go, I was using a 9v battery but it does depend a lot on the sound of your amp. Also you can tighten it up to make it a more modern sound by running a compressor after it.
Cool demo! do you find that this pedal sounds like another channel on the amp, rather than a pedal in front of the clean amp (does it sound like pedally distortion)?
Well this pedal was designed to be used on a clean channel to turn into an 80's cranked Marshall sound but it also works well stacked with overdrives so pretty versatile.
Still of the night. I love this riff in that song right after the bitchin keyboards.

I'm in the same dilemma.
Either the Riot or the Mighty Red, it's a tuff choice.
But i think I am to leaning towards the Riot..
