  • cool

  • can someone give comments on my video ?

    thanks !

  • The VoiceOver guy sounds like David boreanaz! :O

  • Skill.

  • girl at end = major overarch

  • There's no sound!!!

  • the bandaid thing is super smart!

  • it also helps if you put hair spray on the knott

  • I think this video is awsome I watched it everyday when I did Ballet.

  • thank you for all ur nice comments :)

  • I would say grishko freeds Russian pointe or Gaynor Midens I have tried on all and my favorie is grishko they don't last long but I love them

  • um just curious... how do you take the thread out of the knot and ribbon when you want to take them off???

  • @mackat888 the sewing of the knot is a method used by dancers when they perform and as they go through a pair of pointes in one performance, they don't have to worry about taking them off (maybe after the performance they cut it off idk lol) but for everyday classes, dancers dont do this sewing method :)

  • why does she sound like a 2 year old?

  • @NazzyWazzy19 you mean lidia? lol I find her voice the MOST annoying :p don't know if she's just making it up or it's her real voice. she's great though.

  • @TheChaiTeaLatte yea im sure she's an amazing dancer

  • I'm getting a pair TODAY !!! IM SOOOOO EXCITED! my first pair died last week :(! also have an audition for pointe class next week!!! I SIMPLY CANNOT WAIT!!

  • y do u need to sew ur knot to ur ribbons, lol it seems like ur pointes r gonna get stuck on ur foot and never come off

  • i like the water trick to keep the heel on. violin rosin also works

  • Thanks I have just got my ribbons sown onto my pointe shoes so I will keep this in mind. I have just started pointe and am super excited!!

  • why do you have to sew your knot to the ribbon and how would you take them off after that?

  • @msbeachgurl100 i think this is for long rehearsals and performances. while retying ribbons during class is annoying, retying them on stage...you just don't do it. I guess that you can cut the thread between, so the thread just falls off and your ribbons are fine. But chances are, by the time you are finished with your performance (since you have broken in the shoes before it), your shoes are probably dead and the ribbons don't matter anyway.

  • pointe is pronounced "pooahn". dont disrespect the ballet terms plz.

  • @florencelovme it´s "poahnt" acutally.

  • @glmiri i meant actually :-D

  • @glmiri I know french. thanks for calling me idiot in public. that´s very decent human behaviour.

  • @glmiri youre an idiot - learn french and then talk.

  • if the ribbon is too tight, it will limit the movement of the foot.

  • xD My name is Lidia like the first girls so I just watching & I hear him yell out "HEY LIDIA! HOW DO YOU TIE YOUR POINTE SHOES?!" xD I was like "wah...?"

  • how many years does it take a person to get on pointe??

  • @yuki13izumi it depends on each person and each teacher. usually u have to be at least 12 years old for your feet to be developed enough (but again it varies from person to person) i got my point shoes after taking ballet for one full year (meaning i took summer classes as well as class during the school year) hope that helps :)

  • anaheim ballet is very veryy awsome im a filipino and we have a level umm like ballet1,ballet2,and so on and so on and ballet 5 is the highest and im part of them when im very hard in my steps i look at ur vid. AND VERY HELPFUL!

  • Her voice makes me so mad I want to hurt something.

  • Kaitlyn reminds me a lot of a young Drew Barrymore.

  • I just got my first pair of Pointe shoes and i was wondering how i should sew the ribbons????

  • Thank you now my pointe shoes are now nice and tight :D

  • how tight do you tie your laces? I was told if you don't tie them loosely then you won't be able to go all the way over the box. is that true???

  • I took ballet for 8 years before I started pointe. I love it though.

  • i dont do ballet but my friend does. yesterday i borrowed her pointe shoes and tried them and did some "ballet stuff" and i didnt get a sprained ankle or anything... is that normal for anyone that doesnt do ballet?

(sorry for my english, im actually spanish :S)

  • @FantageVids123 nooooo if you have not done ballet for at least like 5 YEARS!!!!! you are bound to break your foot off

  • @FantageVids123 No. But you might have storng ankels. You should not DO EN POINT UNLESS YOUR TRAINED!!

  • @FantageVids123 you're hurting your body without you knowing it. because you don't do ballet at ll, it is most likely that you did everything wrong; maybe you sickle, or you're not pulling up using your core, or not in the correct alignment. and you don't understand what I'm talking about right? so please, stop :)

  • I'm on pointe shoes for about three years but I can't even make a pirouette!! But I love the vid thnx for the tips!

  • 0:30-0:35 ... I shuddered, creepy noise ;o

  • i just went on pointe! fuck yea!

  • beaumcah:I know!!!!!!! I just want to get a point shoe, put it on one foot, and just stand on it.......... I went to see Peter and the wolf once, and they were selling autographed pointe shoes!!!!!!!

  • not gna lie i kinda wanna try those on ..

  • I've both new pointe shoes and they are very very very hard to put them on by the heel. It never been so hard. Ehat should i do?

  • i <3 victoria-rose

  • Does anybody know if the bandaids leave a residue on the ribbons? =/ I'm just wondering, because it seems like it might!

  • I do it like Victoria...just in about 60 seconds. ;p

  • @jok2440

That's what I'm saying. My dance teacher said I was strong enough but we went to the doctors to really find out but he said I've been ready for a year now

  • @dancer8541 my doctor said i was fine to go on pointe too but my teacher didn't. it turned out my teacher was right and I got hurt because my ankles weren't strong enough. your doctor is probably right, but dance teacher's have gone through all of this before. trust them.

  • I love the ballet

  • I'm ten. I just got my first point shoes. I've been dancing for 9 years that's why they put them on me!

  • @dancer8541 You really shouldn't do pointe until you're at least 12. Your bones aren't strong enough until then.

  • Does anyone have any tips to help make your feet more flexible when you're en pointe? I'm on my second pair of pointe shoes and I still can't get over the box all the way :(

  • i wish i could go en pointe :( at my dance schooli think we go en pointe after all the grade n stuff so i think ill be a bout 15/16 or summet when i do even tho im 12 n in grade 6 n iv been dancin since i wa 3 :'(

  • Guys I always wondered what a dancer needa so she could go en pointe

    Plz respond

  • @iriszkovacs She has to have years of ballet training

  • @iriszkovacs no one knows exactly :) it's when you are ready. both technically and physically. but the basic things you need are: 1. take ballet class if you haven't already 2. commit! pointe work is serious and you need to commit to get to it 3. work hard, have fun, and be patient. soon your teacher will tell you that you are ready :)

  • my why is always slipping my heels?

  • my toes are bleeding, right now, i didnt even have pointe today!!

  • if your feet bleed put pads such as gel pads or lambs wool .... it makes it alot comfortable

  • when i tie my pointe shoes and go en pointe for a bit the x part is all baggy but i i make it tighter then its too tight and hurts when i get up. Help?!

  • @ThickAsWater you have sewn the ribbons wrong, the angle of the ribbons is either too much or not enough.

  • @ThickAsWater flex your when you tie them

  • Her voice is so nasal!!!! *Lidia

  • I'm on point it makes my feet bleed

  • heey! this is a great video! i've posted a few videos of me dancing (some on pointe and some on demi pointe) go check them out!

  • this helped me so much!!

  • is it just me or did she say the F word at 3:27

  • @Audreelau huh?

  • is it just me or did she say the F word at 3:27 O_o

  • I dont get sewing them.... Like how would you take them off?

  • 0:34 ouch....:D

  • great tips and easy to follow but their voices are too annoying.

  • @swetergrl91 who's voices?

  • @bozemandude the voices of the girls who are giving the instructions.

  • Comment removed

  • @bozemandude lol yea a little

  • @swetergrl91 Hey! I like their voices!

  • The dance at the beginning is from Sleeping Beauty. It's the Violente fairy. I got to dance that role in my dance program's production of Sleeping Beauty when I was in high school. It was fun having a sharp, dramatic role instead of a traditional soft role. =)

  • @tinylittledancer1997 It may have to do with the strength of the shank you got, for help on how to do this message me on my channel or PM me..(private message)

  • what type of pointe shoes does victoria have?

  • I just got my 1st pair of Pointe shoes today!!! YaYA!

  • copplia

  • Cool! i love kaitlyn! :)

  • Real Russian brides are there gettop5.info

  • Fairy doll! :D

Ooooh, this is gonna help me draw pointe shoes properly! Thank you so much, the ribbons have always been the part that lets my pictures down <3

  • i got my first pair of pointe shoes yesterday! thanks for the tips!

  • My dance teacher just told me i can go on pointe! Im super excited and I cant wait! I will watch this to tie my pointe shoes! Thanks, bye!

  • @MsDancer365 how long have u been dancing??

    congrats, btw :)

  • @CelloAndPiano4Life Thank you! I have been dancing since I was 2! I have been en pointe for about 5 weeks now!

  • @MsDancer365 LUUUUUUUCKYYYY!!!!

  • 73 people accandntly pressed thumbs down

  • @tinylittledancer1997 I suggest that you just sit on them or break the box between a door or something. Hope this helps! :)

  • Hey what's the problem with going on point with no previous experience, no training, and no teacher?? I'm going to go put on the shoes I bought online and do it right now! ..... Ow! My ankle!

Jk I'm actually going to put them on and NOT go on pointe. Maybe hang them in my room for decoration which is the real reason I have them. Hmmmm decisions decisions...

  • the dance is from Giselle

  • the first part of the video with the dancer is from sleeping beauty the finger fairy! :) my ballet school is working on sleeping beauty right now! lol

  • Hey guys! Awesome vid! Please check out my channel, I'm going to start doing Ballet/Dance inspired makeup and hair tutorials! I am a dancer so in every vid, I'll know exactly what I'm talking about ;)

  • Kaitlyn's and lidia's voices are kinda annoying.

  • thak you. :) its helpful

  • Ah i am trying to earn my ballet Pointe shoes!

  • Epic! Thanks!

  • "Ballet is for everyone and now it's for everyone with a computer."

Actually no. You also need internet. ;)

  • Erm excuse me luvey who put about the dating site what does this have to do with ballet?

  • if ur gonna sew it everyytime that might ruin the ribbon i think woudnt it

    ???

  • @Gymnasticseverywhere Yeah, I'm talking about making a career out of it.

  • did she say the f word on 3:31?

  • @thepartyprincess2010

She's too young to say that! But I think she did. hahahaha.

  • I'm sorry to burst the bubble that ballet is "for everyone, and anyone". Sure if you're 6 years old and stop when you're...6 yrs old, but if you're tall, thin and...well mainly tall and thin, then you've found you're sport! If you're short and stocky (not fat, just wider boned), then, sorry it ain't for you. maybe in another lifetime.

  • @TeamSwitzerland1111 anybody can dance if they set thier to it! absolutely anybody!

  • @thesedimples Yeah sure, but can they make a career out of it? Going back to my first comment about body size, that's what it all comes down to if you want to make a career out of it.

  • @TeamSwitzerland1111 not really, appearently ur ignorant! becuz u can dance if you want to, it's not hard to get up and excersie and actually enjoy it! Dance is not all about ending up with a career, it's about expressing the beauty of art, dance, and music all in one! no matter who u are, you can dance! no matter how big or small! and u might not end up getting a scholarship or any of that sort. but it's about having the wil to excerise and experiencing something so grand! it's ppl like urself

  • @thesedimples Yeah, you're completely missing my point. I'm talking about making a career out of it. I encourage people to dance recreationally, but there are certain ideals that dance companies look for when one goes to apply for a job.

  • @TeamSwitzerland1111 yeah u jus kinda sound like a grump! anybody can dance, i dont really care enough to keep arguing tho. everybody has seperate opinions tho, and its all good! its a new year, lets jus enjoy!

  • @thesedimples Yeah, agreed :) I'm only saying this because my sister was a ballerina, but was a bit below the average height of them. She ended up falling and injuring her leg beyond repair. I would hate to see it happen to other people who don't know what could happen.

  • @TeamSwitzerland1111 That's true, i do see your point tho, and i respect ur opinion! (=

  • @TeamSwitzerland1111 i'll dance my dance, u dance urs! - stay safe and happy new year(=

  • Comment removed

  • @thesedimples Those short, stubby people could get seriously injured, just for thought.

  • @TeamSwitzerland1111 ur saying this most likely "if ur really tall super skinny and starve ur self urdestined to be a model :D" just because most ballerinas you see in movies are tall and skinny does NOT mean all ballerinas are and you have to be that

  • I like it !!!

  • @PeanutButterCraze If you notice, she dosnt make a knot at the end of the thread; so when she's done dancing all she has to do is pull the thread out. This technique is not for one to two hour rehearsals, this is more for an all day rehearsal or a performance! Hope this helps :)

  • well... im on pointe and uh thats not how i learned.

  • Can you please do a video of haw to be able to stand on pointe because i really want to stand but i learnt before a long time ago so i really want to learn. And nice video really helpful

  • you realise that the second way is exactly like the first way? she just does it at the same time...

  • one of my ribbons came off of my pointe shoe and it keeps on untying while i dance...do you guys have any tips???

  • @belly101dansa pray hairspray at thm after you tie them

  • and most people would think you would tie the ribbon all the way up your leg but boy were they wrong!!!!! HA HA

  • @love2dancefreak

Each pointe shoe is designed differently, so it's important to get fit by a professional with the right brand and style, it really varys with foot type, i wear a Bloch but my friend wears a grishgoe, and my other friend wears a freed lol

  • How do u get ur foot out of ur shoe is ur ribbons sewn?

  • Kaitlyn looks sooo much like Drew Berymore!!!

  • great video¡¡¡¡ is very useful the tip of the band great

  • it's a great video¡¡¡ thanks is useful i love it

  • great ! ı love AB:)

  • Comment removed

  • what brand pointe shoes was the last girl waring? they look gorgeous

  • Looks like Lydia is wearing body tights!! I love Kaitlyns's cute "Cindy Brady" lisp!!

  • Looks like Lydia is wearing body tights!!

  • pointe hurts A LOT!!!!!help?

  • @solidicegirl maybe you are posing too much on your leg and your toes are crushed. Or maybe you didn't get the right size?

  • @bastiennec im doing a little more better Since i walked in them for awhile at home

  • @solidicegirl Have you tried a little bit more padding dear? :)

  • @flowerpuddle10101 well on my right foot i have just an ouch pouch and on my left I have an ouch pouch and some wool, but that's it.

  • @solidicegirl

Mine hurt too don't worry, well they did. But after years of training im okay now. when I first got them I was in SO MUCH PAIN! AAHHHHHH,

But to fix it I walked around my house in them for an hour WITH SOCKS OVER THEM and it really helped me :) x

  • @SammiaMei they don't exactly hurt as much anymore but after awhile it starts to hurt again but I will try to walk in them with socks over them thx

  • i love this vidio

  • Wow, sewing your ribbons together every time you wear your pointe shoes? Isn't that a little much?

  • @silverfishes When you're dancing en pointe in a professional dance company, for hours upon hours a day, then no its not a little much. Or for performances...obviously.

  • @silverfishes usually dancers only do this for perfomances to ensure that the ribbons won't pop out during performing.

  • @silverfishes well you have to remember that most of the ballerinas use a new pair every show.

  • @silverfishes most do it just for shows ...

  • @silverfishes I'm pretty sure she's talking about for shows.

  • at 1:54 why do her shoes look so weird like that?? ://

  • @lexiiducky IT's just because she isn't standing on her pointe shoes and her feet are relaxed....:)

  • I feel sort of bad now :c My cousin have those shoes, and she was told she wasn't allowed to wear them unless she had been training for at least 2 years.

Both her and I have worn them. We've never been to ballet (well I was 3 times as a child, but I didn't get in ;_;) and her feet are smaller than mine, but I wore them anyways and stuff..

I'd SO wish there were some ballet classes for teens with no experience... I so wanna learn the beauty of ballet!
