Nu Metal is not influenced by Thrash Metal at all.

Its influenced by Groove Metal, Crossover, Grunge and Hip Hop.

Mostly Groove Metal bands like Pantera and Crossover like Rage Against The Machine.

Yeah Rap Rock = Rock + Rap (Crossover).

Many Nu Metal bands was influenced by the Crossover/Groove Metal band "Prong". RATM and Groove Metal in general were a heavy influence on Nu Metal. Cause Nu Metal took the "Groove Riffs" and the "Rap + Rock" Crossover of RATM. I dont think really Thrash Metal was a influence. Maybe a little bit but Nu Metal hardly includes fast solos or "Thrashy" Riffs. Its mostly rhythim based with deep tuned riffs.

Well now i have both the Prototype and Stiltwalkers and the last one is much more like Skipnkot's first album... It was very strange for me to listen to a 2010 Nu Metal album, cus now all the bands have turned to metalcore or alternetive metal...

I dunno whether you know a swedish band called Calm. Their first rwo albums are pretty cool but Ive never listened to their second one complete. I wish I had that album but here in Chile it doesnt virtually exist
