thank you for your comment. Eva Cassidy's music has beein an inspiration to us all. Holly wanted to pay tribute to her with love and remembrance. This recording is one of my personal favorites and it is kind of cool to note, that Holly only did this in one take, and recorded it this one time, in 2006.

Nice voice.. sure, but why SING A VARIATION OF THE MELODY FIRST? She never sings THE MELODY of that wonderful song.. Variations, in my humble opinion, should come after the STATEMENT OF THE MELODY.. Its now a 'new tune' ..just an opinion..

It is a cover of Eva Cassidy's cover of the song. Eva is a bit more of a blues/jazz sounding singer, and it works well with her voice. It is kind of her approach to a lot of her covers and she is famous for it, actually. But, for some reason, even though this girls voice is beautiful, it doesn't work as well to cover it this way, without melody,..imo, I should say. Having said that, she sings beautifully.
