I feel your pain fella. You called it right "foolishness." Charter is not so great when it comes to internet. One of the Verizon workers said Charter is the hardest for them to deal with in respect to people's e-mail on their phones because they are constantly changing their pass-codes. Verizon offers internet service and we may switch to that.
CHARTER ABSOLUTELY SUCKS!!! att uverse sucked! dropped service for hours and sometimes for days. SO i switched to Charter, (paying $10 more). needless to say, i miss the shitty service from uverse, compared to the bullshit charter provides. took me 10 minutes just to get to youtube and post this. cant stream videos without having to refresh the page. their cable service also seems to be stuck in the 80s. THANK GOD FOR NO CONTRACTS
they expect you to pay for the max speed, when the minimum speed is what matters most. if i lose connectivity at all, i should adjust the bill accordingly.i lose connection every five minutes and get kicked off of the playstation network. i wouldnt mind if i was playing a game, however, i am speaking with a friend of mine and they are fed up as well.
Sadly, AT&T and Charter are the only options where I live. I'm actually cancelling my AT&T phone and DSL service tomorrow because I'm tired of the way I'm treated by them. I've talked to others who have Charter and they don't seem to have any complaints, but then I see videos like this and I'm not so sure. Hopefully I'll have better luck, because it's not like us consumers are given many options.
@theekklesiatv. yeah, triple play offerings are pretty nice. unless theres an issue with your drop or too much signal loss up to the mosem, there should be no reason your service drops out. i would suggest buying your own docsis 3 mdm. get one from motorola.
@fireofsev... I wanted nothing else to do with Bellsouth (AT&T). It was cheaper to go with Charter's Triple Play service than to keep Bellsouth's phone service. Bellsouth is the worse of them all! Their service is so bad, not to mention they offer some of the slowest Internet speeds in the industry. You can only get so much bandwidth down those copper lines at varying distances.
yes im quite sick of charter also. we had it for 2 months and the Internet drops every hour everyday i cant drop charter because its my only option. we have called charter 4 times had are modem changed 3 times had 3 charter techs come over and they keep telling us the last tech that came did something wrong and one tech admitted that charter gave us a faulty modem so i am going to call them and tell them to find a fix or i am going to upload a vid of there horrible customer service

Get a new modem or router. When my Internet went Down for an entire weekend it was the router.
