No wonder why they skip the Rock and Heavy kit models!?
This new kit is an EPIC failure!
Where it has indeed improved in the cloth toms, beaters and choke feature interface...the HD-3 falls short in that it has left out its very cool sounding HD-1 (Kit #2) ROCK ARENA sound!? The "new" weak rock sounds on the HD-3 module are very thin and acoustic kit sounding.
For that reason alone, Roland has really screwed the pooch on this one!
Bring the HD-1 Rock kit back or its a NO buy for me.

@jamesconga use it as a midi controller and use the "learn" function or spend 2 minutes mapping it as you wish...

How easy or hard is it to do kick rolls with a beater-less pedal? It's essential to have the ability to play the pedal just as you could a real one. I guess I'll have to go try it out for myself to find out.
