Yeah, I don't mind high-pitched singing so much - that has been in metal from  the beginning, and it suits some styles, like power metal - but high screaming is just annoying to the ears.

And ha, tis indeed. Many do not understand the difference between a negative comment and a bad comemnt, however.

I am really not into mathcore (or any other kind of core actually) but I happened to see these guys at a show and I was impressed. But it was more like a good surprise to me than anything else. I don't think I'd listen to them everyday.

It's not good to fuel an argument but before we stop, please let me add, that in MY PERSONAL opinion the times when Metal was an underground movement have ended long ago. I do respect your standpoint however, since there still is still alot going on besindes the "mainstream" part of todays Metal. One I will never stand though, is how one can choose by himself to stay "underground" on purpose. But that might come from me being born into a professional musicians family, so my viewpoint is biased.

I don't mind a conversation, I hate mindless arguments.

I listen to Jazz, Blues, and Classical Music. Metal of course and what is derived from it from beyond metal to virtuoso; from Death Metal to Rusty Cooley, Vai, Satriani, Yngwie etc.

The rest to me isn't musically advanced or complex, and in my opinion very, very lame; i.e. rap/rock, emo, screamo, metalcore, hardcore, and all that crap.

And staying underground has nothing to do with not creating horrible noise dubbed as "music".

Maybe my choice of words in my first comment was not the best. I'm surely not saying that underground = crap. I just don't like the overall bashing against any music that is a bit more popular, which especially guys who are new to underground music do alot. I don't think you belong to this group however. There's nothing wrong in not liking certain types of music or specific bands in particular.
