are there any real tricks to doing this or do you just have to get use to the distance and power bar? because sometimes i can do it really well and others it just goes straight over the bar when i use the same distance and power

just hold L" and tap the right analogue stick down, then up twice in quik succession, works evry time :D

how do u set up a free kick situation like that in arena? PS3 or 360?

Move to wherever you want to take a Free Kick or go in the box for a penalty and press right on the directional buttons.

When in the Arena, hit down twice then up right away.
