Great video. However, the CASIO website mentions "Countdown timer." You never showed this. I would have liked to see it on the screen & hear how it beeps/signals to let the person know the time is over!
Nice, informative video. I have the SGW-300 which has the barometer and altimeter but I'm thinking this watch may be more what I'm looking for. The problem with my watch and even the high end Pathfinders and Protreks is that they lack an altimeter lock which makes them pretty much useless if the barometric pressure changes. The compass though, is pretty handy and can be used in a pinch to help you navigate if you're lost in the woods.
I just got this watch about a month ago and I went on a run a couple weeks ago. I look down during the run and the time is frozen. It is now stuck on 8:47 and will not change no matter what I press. I don't know if I should take out the battery or send it back to Casio...
Hey man, could you please help me out big time and tell me how to calibrate the compass. I have owned this watch now for 12 months, but am still travelling around Europe, and the compass really would have come in handy a few times. but i left my manual back home in Australia. Please help, its driving me crazy!!!
hi, i bought this watch 7 months ago for $95 and after couples of weeks i noticed on the back of the watch clearly written made in china. i'm afraid it's a fake watch or replica watch. mine 100% exactly like yours. but maybe i'm wrong. how bout yours? thanks!
Hey bro, I just bought the same watch and may i ask u why when u hit the comp button the arrow pointing opposite direction like comp reading is saying west and the arrow will pointing east direction... I' am kind of confused about that, is it suppose to be like that? Thank you!
@panisher03 actually the arrow is ALWAYS pointing north, and will change as you move. The arrow is NOT pointing at the N,S,W,E on the face of the watch, those are just for show, but it does help if you line up the arrow with the N (north) on the face of the watch
I bought that same watch for a friend while I was in the States. I wanted one for my self but I couldn't decide whether to buy that one or the one with the nylon band. The thing is that the 1v buckle feels pretty cheap. I end up buying the casio edifice efa 119 and a cheap $15 bucks timex for the outdoors. I am hypnotized by the Timex WS4, but it's pretty expensive and can't compete with a $40 dollars casio. My thermometer is far from accurate... yours?
@leonardodaniele86 The strap seemed cheap feeling to me also when I first tried it on but I can now say that it's held up really well after about eight months. The Edifice has a great look to it. I've never seen a watch thermometer that was accurate, every one I've seen is affected by body temperature. You can calibrate the thermometer to negate the temperature difference but then the reading is off when you remove it from your wrist... The Timex E-Tide series are great looking watches!
i cant get enough watch vids. i got me a gshock and it took another beating in some fights this weekend at work. so it passed the tougness test again... these babies look tough too.
@PavlovSandor Glad you enjoyed the video, man, I notice quite a few watch reviews coming from the knife guys recently ;) I like the look of yours better than this one, I wouldn't hesitate to pick up another Casio.
Cool watch man, I love Casios! I have two Pathfinders, the PAW1300 and the PAW1500. I agree with you on the compass feature, I wish they would make the compass stay on longer or until you take it out of the mode. Also the backlight needs to stay on longer as well. I have my thermometer calibrated for on my wrist readings. These watches are a great backup tools! Thanks for the vid!
@darkchild57 Good to know you're liking the Pathfinders, I'd like to try those out some day. They must limit the backlight so that your battery doesn't run out too quickly. Kind of annoying though. I've considered calibrating the thermometer to account for the body temp, but I honestly don't use it too frequently anyway. Nice to have available if you ever need it though. Thanks man!

Does the countdown timer allow you to program by seconds?
BoarderX 9 months ago
@BoarderX i think no, i downloaded the manual and it only showed for minutes
StridingCloud 9 months ago
@BoarderX after buying the watch i can say no, it does not, but i use the stopwatch to "countdown" seconds

I really want to buy a watch but I don't know if I would ever use it. I normally check my phone for the time, temp, etc.

@AtPeacePiece That's true, these new phones do just about everything, some even make decent flashlights I've noticed ;)
